Actor Ahn Hyo-seop will participate as a voice artist in the Netflix global animated film "KPop Demon Hunters."

"KPop Demon Hunters" is a hybrid action musical animation set in a dual world where members of popular K-POP girl groups hunt demons offstage.

With dazzling stages and a deep emotional narrative, this work harmonizes supernatural thrills and serves as a sentimental content that addresses the current generation's anxious identity and emotional balance through the cultural code of K-POP, recognized as a symbolic case showing that K-POP has become a central element in designing the 'structure' of global content, not just a genre.

Ahn Hyo-seop voices the male protagonist "Jin-woo," a leader of the boy group, driving the narrative's central axis. Through this, Ahn Hyo-seop will perform all lines in English, challenging a high-level acting method that conveys the nuances of emotion solely through voice, showcasing a new mode of existence as a K-actor.

"KPop Demon Hunters" is a Netflix film produced by Sony Pictures Animation, known for creating global hits like "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," with Korean-American director Maggie Kang and Chris Applehans of "Wish Dragon" participating in the direction, drawing attention as content that embodies both Korean cultural identity and a global sensibility.

Especially at this turning point where Asian creators, Korean actors, and the cultural asset of K-POP stand at the center of global popular culture, this work is noted as a significant project that demonstrates not the 'globalization of K-content,' but rather the 'K-culturalization of global content.'

With news of Ahn Hyo-seop's casting also reported, "KPop Demon Hunters" is expected to simultaneously release in over 190 countries worldwide via Netflix on June 20.

Meanwhile, Ahn Hyo-seop recently completed filming for the movie "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint," in which he plays the lead role Kim Dok-ja, with the release scheduled for July.
