"Dear Hongrang" has unveiled its character stills.

On the 24th, Netflix released character still cuts of the main characters from the original series "Dear Hongrang."

"Dear Hongrang" is a mystery melodrama historical drama that depicts the unknown feelings blossoming between the son "Hongrang" of the greatest merchant group of Joseon, who returns after 12 years with no memory, and his half-sister "Jaei", who is the only one doubting his reality.

A still featuring the charismatic gaze of "Hongrang" (Lee Jae-wook), the son of the "Minsangdan," who returns after 12 years of being missing, evokes curiosity about his past and identity. "Hongrang" is the sole legitimate heir of the "Minsangdan" and returns with a secret, having lost all memories before his disappearance. Lee Jae-wook is expected to deeply express his enigmatic interior, increasing engagement.

The sharp and fierce gaze of "Jaei" (Jo Bo-ah) reveals her complex emotions of not being able to feel joy even though her long-lost brother "Hongrang" has returned. Unlike anyone else, the half-sister "Jaei" has desperately searched for her brother. Jo Bo-ah, who plays the role of "Jaei," who cannot trust the unfamiliar "Hongrang" upon his return, will delicately portray her confusion along with her unknown feelings toward him.

The stills of "Hongrang" and "Jaei" together suggest their relationship and emotional changes. The expressionless face of "Hongrang" and the wary look of "Jaei" create a sense of tension, while a peculiar atmosphere flows between the two as they stand close, arousing curiosity about what changes may occur in their relationship.

Regarding their characters, Lee Jae-wook, who plays "Hongrang," noted, "Jaei is a being far sharper than a sword," while Jo Bo-ah, who plays "Jaei," remarked, "He is a very harsh and annoying presence. With his appearance, all activities to find 'Hongrang' will be halted and I felt a lot of frustration about that," increasing expectations for how the emotional lines between the two characters, which began with caution and suspicion, will evolve.

Stills of the characters around "Hongrang" and "Jaei" have also been released, stimulating curiosity. "Mujin" (Jung Ga-ram), the adopted son of the "Minsangdan," who has held the fort in place of the missing "Hongrang," is presented in the stills looking sharply dressed, as someone who has taken charge of all the affairs of the merchant group, and he faces a crisis as his position is threatened by the return of "Hongrang."

The mistress of the "Minsangdan" and "Hongrang"'s biological mother "Min Yeon-ui" (Um Ji-won), as well as the head of the "Minsangdan," "Sim Yeol-guk" (Park Byung-eun), who is the biological father of both "Hongrang" and "Jaei," evoke curiosity about what actions they will take following the return of their lost son. The artist and painter "Han Pyeong-dae-gun" (Kim Jae-wook), known for having the finest aesthetic sensibility in Joseon, also sparks intrigue about what his presence will reveal in the narrative surrounding "Hongrang" and "Jaei."

Thus, as characters with their own narratives and secrets intertwine within a mysterious plot, the story enriched with the melodrama of "Hongrang" and "Jaei" is expected to offer multi-layered enjoyment. Additionally, the fresh ensemble of actors with excellent character portrayals adds to the anticipation.

"Dear Hongrang" will be exclusively available on Netflix starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 16.
