'Holy Night' Seohyun mentioned feeling limits to her image.

On the morning of the 23rd, an interview with Seohyun, the lead actor of the film 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters,' took place at a café on Samcheong-ro in Jongno, Seoul.

'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' (written and directed by Im Dae-hee, distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by Big Punch Pictures and Nova Film) is an occult action film where a city is thrown into chaos by a group that worships evil, featuring a team of darkness fixers with special abilities: 'Holy Night' Team Bau (played by Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (played by Seohyun), and Kim-gun (played by Lee Da-wit) who eradicate evil beings.

With 12.69 million viewers for 'The Outlaws 2' in May 2022, 10.69 million viewers for 'The Outlaws 3' in May 2023, and 11.5 million viewers for 'The Outlaws 4' in April 2024, Ma Dong-seok's new film has achieved a triple ten million, exploding with strong box office potential every spring. Having set the unprecedented record of 'six ten million films,' Ma Dong-seok participated in planning, production, and acting, and is also being noted for his first occult action film. Furthermore, the delightful chemistry he, Seohyun, and Lee Da-wit will showcase, along with the unprecedented thrilling and refreshing exorcism action, is raising expectations for box office success, with the film reaching the top of the real-time reservation rate based on the integrated ticketing system just before its release.

Seohyun passionately portrayed Sharon, a powerful exorcist who can sense and defeat any demon in the film. The intense colors of her costume, hair, makeup, accessories, and even the clothing featuring peculiar symbols and patterns appeal to a vastly different image that she has not shown before. This is also her screen debut as an actress.

This year, expectations are high for her work, including the film 'Holy Night' and the new KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama 'I Took the Male Lead's First Night,' which airs in June.

Seohyun said, "As an actress, I have a lot of ambition, and I thought about wanting to show new performances and reveal the various aspects within me. I always had that thirst as well. Many people may have solidified their image of me. Since I spent 20 years as the youngest member of Girls' Generation, there were certain established facets. I have many diverse aspects within me but have had few opportunities to show them."

She continued, "When 'Holy Night' came into this situation, I thought, 'This is it.' The script was so fun, and even though I may have no confidence in showing such an aspect that is entirely absent within me, I felt I could definitely showcase this. It’s not an easy thing to imagine such a side to me," expressing her gratitude.

She also noted, "Senior Ma Dong-seok believed in me and offered me this role, so I felt I must respond with 'absolutely' in return. I felt a sense of responsibility to prepare well and show beyond what he expected. He gave me much praise on set and never said things like, 'This is insufficient.' I thought, 'I need to do well on my own,' and he trusted me. I wanted to prepare even better."

Seohyun mentioned, "It seems like I was picked by Senior Ma Dong-seok during the casting process. Since he is involved in production, there was no connection at all before. He said that he thought I could do well because it is an entirely opposite image of my existing one. He mentioned, 'There are many diverse sides to you.' Senior Ma Dong-seok said that he felt I could show a side that many people do not know, and that I could do well as Sharon. He also said he looked into my acting."

Meanwhile, 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' is set to be released on the 30th.
