The group Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Dockyoung, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) is returning next month with a new album.
On the evening of the 21st at 10 p.m., Seventeen posted a video containing their main plans for the year on the team's official SNS. According to this, Seventeen will release their 5th full album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' on May 26. They also teased various activities this year, including tours, new unit singles, and new content.
This is Seventeen's first full album in about three years since 'Face the Sun' in 2022. 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' is an expression created by combining the English word for birthday and the meaning of burst. The agency Pledis Entertainment explained that this album name embodies their determination to be reborn as a 'new Seventeen.'
The new release adds significance as it will be released on the 10th anniversary of Seventeen's debut. Debuting on May 26, 2015, they have continued to achieve success through constant challenges and expansions. They have shown an ideal aspect expected of K-pop artists: passion to reach a wider world, courageous challenge spirits that are not afraid of change, strong teamwork, and a deep bond with fans, establishing themselves as 'Super IDOL.'
Their unique promotional methods are also eye-catching. After a fan meeting earlier in March, Seventeen displayed the phrase '2025. 05. 26. HAPPY BIRTHDAY' on a public screen. They also released a video featuring charred invitations on SNS, sparking curiosity among fans. In the video, the invitation unfolds, revealing Seventeen's schedule.
Pledis Entertainment said, 'Seventeen will celebrate their 10th anniversary this year and plans to visit fans around the world, including various content and stages in addition to their 5th full album.' They added, 'We ask for your great expectations and interest in their future activities.'
Seventeen is preparing for a fan meeting in Japan. The members plan to hold the 'SEVENTEEN 2025 JAPAN FAN MEETING 'HOLIDAY'' at Kyocera Dome Osaka on the 24th and 26th to 27th, and at Saitama Super Arena on May 10th and 11th.
