Kai mentioned the future direction of EXO.
On the 21st, a showcase to commemorate the release of Kai's fourth mini-album "Wait On Me" took place at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The showcase was hosted by Suho, the leader of EXO, the same group.
On that day, Suho served as the MC, and during a recent live broadcast held to celebrate the group's 13th anniversary, Suho, Kai, DIO, Chanyeol, and Sehun, who is currently serving in the military, contacted fans to greet them, raising questions about EXO's future direction.
When asked about the direction in which EXO will proceed with future albums and fan meetings, Kai said, "For now, we are really having a lot of discussions with the company about EXO's direction and talking positively."
He continued, "If there is an opportunity, I will try to show a good appearance here as EXO. I need to talk with the company more."
Meanwhile, in June last year, Chen Baek-chi's agency INB100 held an emergency press conference, claiming that SM did not uphold the distribution commission rate of 5.5% promised in an agreement made in 2023, and demanded a royalty of 10% of sales revenue.
However, SM stated, "The contents revealed by themselves at the press conference clearly demonstrate the tempering regarding Chen Baek-chi," indicating legal action. In response, Chen Baek-chi expressed regret over SM's stance, stating, "If SM continues to fail to provide settlement documents, we will apply for a preliminary injunction in court."
As the legal dispute between SM and Chen Baek-chi continued, EXO's winter album, scheduled for release last year, did not proceed as planned. Separately, Chen Baek-chi members concluded their fan meeting in Japan after six years, and three members did not attend EXO's 13th anniversary live broadcast.
