Rookie actor Choi Yoon-ji will appear in tvN's new drama 'For the First Love.'
'For the First Love' (directed by Yoon Je-won, written by SUNGWOO, produced by Studio Dragon and Showrunners) portrays the story of a single mother and her medical student daughter, who unexpectedly encounter a second act in life and decide to live for today's happiness rather than tomorrow's, depicting a story of first love that is not the end but the beginning. Director Yoon Je-won, known for his warm romantic dramas like 'Mom's Friend's Son,' 'Crash Course in Romance,' and 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,' takes the helm, while the fresh writing of SUNGWOO raises expectations.
Choi Yoon-ji plays the proud daughter of single mother Ji-an (played by Yum Jung-ah), who transitions from an exemplary medical student to a rebellious youth named 'Lee Hyo-ri.' Having entered medical school while studying hard as her mother wished after raising her alone without a husband, she suddenly embarks on the biggest deviation of her life and leaves for a quiet seaside town, where she encounters unexpected relationships. In particular, the detailed acting chemistry with Yum Jung-ah is expected to enhance the immersion of the drama.
Previously, Choi Yoon-ji left a strong impression as a marriage matching company employee and pregnant Yoon In-young in the Netflix original series 'Trunk,' showcasing character interpretation skills and delicate expressiveness that are beyond her rookie status. She later rose to prominence as a promising youth drama star in tvN's weekend drama 'Love is a Single Log Bridge,' playing the role of top student Go Hae-soo, presenting a fresh charm completely different from her previous work.
In the upcoming 'For the First Love,' she is expected to transform into a different look from her previous work, showcasing a deeper portrayal of youth.
Meanwhile, the presence of Choi Yoon-ji is highly anticipated in 'For the First Love,' which will be broadcast in the second half of 2025.
