Actor Jang Geun-suk (37) noted that his perspective on life has changed after battling cancer.
Jang Geun-suk conveyed his feelings during his battle with thyroid cancer on MBN's "Go Season 4," which aired on the 20th. He said, "I had donated about 1.2 billion won to Hanyang University, thinking it would help my juniors study better, but when I was unwell, Hanyang University Hospital was the one that treated me."
Jang Geun-suk continued, "Seeing the list of those who donated allowed me to undergo surgery under good conditions," and added, "Ultimately, I felt strongly that what I wanted to give eventually comes back to me in life." He remarked, "It might be a presumptuous thought, but I believe I should earn more money and give back to more people," stating that he is studying for his dream of philanthropy.
Jang Geun-suk also hinted at his investment situation. He mentioned, "It seems the value of youth remains in real estate," and is currently studying Bitcoin, stocks, and bonds.
Jang Geun-suk was diagnosed with thyroid cancer around October 2023 and underwent surgery in May of the following year. He revealed his cancer battle for the first time in August of last year through a video on his YouTube channel. He also said during the broadcast that day, "The word cancer itself carries a sense of fear," and shared, "I didn't speak to anyone for a week."
