Actress Anne Hathaway (42) has been embroiled in unexpected plastic surgery rumors due to recent photos. Hathaway was swept up in speculation that she underwent 'something' on her face, as her skin has become unusually smooth compared to six months ago, according to the Daily Mail on the 18th (local time). The report noted that Hathaway was in the spotlight as she attended Ralph Lauren's 2025 autumn runway presentation at the Jack Shainman Gallery in the Tribeca area of Manhattan, New York.

However, Hathaway boasted such tight skin that not a single wrinkle was visible even when she smiled broadly. Her facial features appeared more refined as well. This led to speculation about plastic surgery. But Hathaway received makeup from famous makeup artist Christopher Buckle, who has worked with the actress Lindsay Lohan, known for sparking plastic surgery rumors, and showcased a tight ponytail done by Orlando Pita, which resembles a sort of facelift.

"She could have had surgery, but one should not underestimate the power of a ponytail facelift," "Is everyone in Hollywood Benjamin Button?" "Reminds me of Ariana Grande (Ariana Grande is rumored to have undergone surgery to emphasize her eyes and eyebrows)," "It looks like it’s not plastic surgery, but rather a combination of false eyelashes and a tight ponytail," leading to a debate over Hathaway’s somewhat changed face. Meanwhile, in 2023, plastic surgeon Gary Motiki noted in an interview with DailyMail.com, "It appears that Anne Hathaway has refined the tip of her nose," adding that "the wide and slightly bulbous tip of her nose has become much more pronounced and thinner. The projection of the nose tip can also be seen as increased. This is the most significant evidence that she underwent rhinoplasty."

Motiki also speculated that "her jawline appears slightly narrower, which could be a natural result of fat loss or it could be the result of a procedure like Botox that slightly refined her jawline to make the lower face narrower."

In 2008, Hathaway denied having undergone plastic surgery but honestly admitted, "I wanted to have a nose job when I was younger. I thought my nose was not great." Nevertheless, she stated, "To be an actress, one must have a distinctive face. Otherwise, it's just a face shape," expressing her conviction about the uniqueness required in an actress's face.

Hathaway is preparing for eight acting projects, including highly anticipated sequels to 'The Princess Diaries' and 'The Devil Wears Prada.'

She is set to play author Verity Crawford in a film based on Colin Hoover's 2018 thriller novel 'Verity', directed by Michael Showalter. Amazon Studios plans to release the film on May 15, 2026.

Additionally, Hathaway is said to play Penelope, the wife of Odysseus (Matt Damon) and queen of Ithaca, in a $250 million film based on the novel 'The Odyssey' by Homer, directed by Christopher Nolan.
