Kim Young-gwang made a special appearance as Imugi in 'Haunted Palace.'
The first episode of the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Haunted Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung / directed by Yoon Sung-sik) that aired on the 18th depicted the reason why Imugi Gang-cheol (played by Kim Young-gwang) came to hate humans.
That day, the video opened with, 'Originally, the guy named Gang-cheol was a dragon trying to ascend after finishing his training deep in the forest. However, he was a dragon with extraordinarily bad luck. The ascending dragon came into the human's sight, which leads to becoming an Imugi if he attracts negativity.' It continued, 'The terrifying providence of heaven had no mistake at all. A millennium of training was meaningless, as that very night, he caught the eye of a young child and fell to the ground. This is the reason why Gang-cheol hates humans so much.'
From that day on, Gang-cheol chased after Yeori (played by Kim Ji-yeon) for a whopping 13 years. Gang-cheol said, 'Though I may shudder at humans, I wouldn't mind treating someone like you nicely.' He suggested, 'I am a magnificent spirit. A splendid vessel. I will make you the greatest shaman, becoming your body deity and performing national rites.'
However, Yeori shouted, 'It's you. It's you who lent strength to that outsider. You were planning to use that outsider to remove the Gyeonggwi stone and take over my body. You think I wouldn't know your dark plans?' Gang-cheol tried to persuade her, saying, 'If you understand this so well, then just come over already. They say a decade can change landscapes, but it's already been 13 years, Yeori.'
The reason Yeori hates Gang-cheol so much has been revealed: it is because he killed her grandmother. In response, Yeori said, 'I'm just a human, so I can do nothing to you. But I will never host a twisted evil spirit like you. Even if I age and crumble into pieces, it wouldn't matter. This is my revenge against you.'
Nevertheless, Gang-cheol did not give up, and possessing the body of Yeori's first love, Yoon-gap, he attempted to claim her, saying, 'Yeori, you are now mine.'
Meanwhile, Imugi Gang-cheol made a surprise appearance as Kim Young-gwang in his true form, capturing attention. Kim Young-gwang flaunted charisma in a black robe adorned with scales, leading the first episode and showcasing a strong presence.
