Actor Kim Jung-min cautiously empathized after hearing actress Kim Hyun-sook's family story.
In the episode of MBN's 'Talking Show Dongchimi' (hereinafter 'Dongchimi') aired on the 19th, there was a discussion about the stance children should take regarding their parents' conflicts.
Actress Kim Hyun-sook shared that she spent her elementary school years trembling with fear due to her rough father and violent behavior. In response, Kim Jung-min said, "I have known Kim Hyun-sook for a long time. However, we don’t talk about such stories privately, so I felt that we had similar family backgrounds," and cautiously opened up.
Kim Jung-min, who had long suspended broadcasting activities due to a lawsuit with an ex-boyfriend, cautiously brought up her family story with her enduring beauty and eloquent speech. She stated, "I also had a similar experience. My father was not a person who created a healthy family. Whenever he drank, he would open the door at home, and he was a terrifying father. I wrote a letter to the judge," adding, "It wasn't a consensual divorce, so the child who could express their opinion had to do so. This was during my late elementary school years. I ended up living with my mom and had no contact with my biological father."
Later, Kim Jung-min shared, "However, when he passed away, I received contact. When I saw him again after severing ties, he was already deceased. The funeral notice was also received late, and by the time it was all over, I couldn't see him one last time. That's how the farewell occurred," noting, "Even if you cut ties with your parents, it seems you can’t completely sever the connection."
