Comedian Lee Jin-ho has been referred to the prosecution on charges of illegal gambling.

On the 17th, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station stated that Lee Jin-ho was referred to the prosecution on the 15th for habitual gambling.

According to the police, Lee Jin-ho is accused of using hundreds of millions of won for illegal internet gambling. It is reported that the total amount borrowed from fellow entertainers and lending companies is approximately 2.3 billion won.

In particular, it has been reported that among the fellow entertainers from whom Lee Jin-ho borrowed money are BTS member Jimin, comedian Lee Soo-geun, and singer Ha Sung-woon.

Meanwhile, Lee Jin-ho revealed the fact of illegal gambling through his personal social media last October. At that time, Lee Jin-ho said, "In 2020, I happened to start playing games on illegal internet gambling sites and ended up with unmanageable debt."

Lee Jin-ho confessed his illegal gambling, stating, "I was able to detach myself from gambling late, spurred by the harsh advice of friends and the fear that I might not be able to do what I love again, but I have already received financial help from many people. I am steadily repaying the money every month, and I plan to repay this debt entirely through my own efforts until I die."

As a result, Lee Jin-ho has left the entertainment program "Knowing Bros" in which he was a fixed grant, and all the content videos he advertised have been taken down.
