'Naked World History' received legal sanctions.
On the 14th, the Korean Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) held a full meeting and decided to issue a legal sanction 'warning' regarding tvN's 'Naked World History,' which repeatedly exposed the brand names of the chairs on which the cast members were seated.
'Naked World History' was brought to review because of the repeated exposure of indirect advertising products and brand names while the participants learned history through lectures while seated.
The video showed the participants seated, with the product name in white letters clearly visible in the upper part, and the indirect advertising product name appeared throughout the broadcast. In response, Commissioner Kim Jung-soo noted, "The chair advertisements are appearing as fixed content unrelated to the program. It appears to be a chair specially made for the advertisement. It seems the production team accepts it as if there are no problems, and I believe it is necessary to raise awareness about excessive indirect advertising," offering a 'caution' opinion.
Rep. Kang Kyung-pil, who issued the 'warning' opinion, said, "The fact that it was referred to the KCSC was recognized but was broadcast in the same form. The issue is not trivial, hence the legal sanction 'warning' opinion," while Rep. Ryu Hui-rim also expressed the same opinion, citing "indifference to indirect advertising," resulting in a 2 to 1 decision for the legal sanction 'warning.'
A tvN official who attended to present an opinion stated, "We have given some thought to the position of the panels and logos so that they do not disrupt the viewing flow," and added, "While it is currently difficult to make immediate corrections, we will find a way to adjust it so there are no issues."
