Recently, the film , which deals with the 4.3 Incident recently registered as a UNESCO World Heritage, has revealed its entire cast. The film from Jeju has raised anticipation for its release by unveiling stills from a script reading and a ritual wishing for a safe and successful shoot.

The film explores the connection between the names 'Jung-soon' and 'Young-ok,' revealing the scars from the Jeju 4.3 Incident in 1948, which emerge through the turmoil and trials of the democratization process in the 1980s, and seeks to find what meaning connects the present date, 2025, with future generations. This film is a winning work from the 4.3 film scenario competition co-hosted by the Jeju 4.3 Peace Foundation and the Jeju International Free City Development Center (JDC).

This work, directed by Kim Jung-kyung, known for , , and , stars actress Yeom Hye-ran, who has showcased her outstanding acting in various films and dramas, including the recent 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.' Yeom Hye-ran takes on the role of Jung-soon, who raises her son Young-ok while harboring the deep pain from the Jeju 4.3 Incident in her childhood, and she convincingly conveys the process of finding lost memories intertwined with the names Jung-soon and Young-ok. She has again formed a deep connection with Jeju following her drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.'

The roles of Young-ok, who wishes to change her feminine name due to her good relationship with her mother Jung-soon, and Min-soo, Yang-ok's best friend and exemplary student, are played by emerging actors Shin Woo-bin and Choi Jun-woo, respectively. In addition, actors Yoo Joon-sang, who recently finished performances of the film and the musical 'Swing Days_Code Name A,' as well as Oh Ji-ho, who is active in the drama 'Heo's Diner,' portray the adult Young-ok and Min-soo, providing a convincing link between the past and the present.

Kim Kyu-ri, an actress involved in various activities in the culture and arts sector, including the film <1980>, plays the role of Hira, a psychiatrist who comes down from Seoul to guide Jung-soon in her search for memories. The character Kyung-tae, who rises to leader of the class after transferring from Seoul, is portrayed by actor Park Ji-bin, who returns to the screen after six years, showcasing new aspects in dramas such as 'Killer's Shopping Mall,' 'Blind,' and 'Red Daun Sim.'

In particular, the role of Jung-soon features not only actress Yeom Hye-ran, but also Lee So-i from the drama 'Motel California' and child actors Shim Ji-yu and Cha Joon-hee, vividly illustrating how the scars left by the Jeju 4.3 Incident continue to resonate from the past to the present without healing.

On April 11th, the film held a script reading and performed a ritual. On the same day, the UNESCO World Heritage registration of the Jeju 4.3 was announced, creating a remarkable connection. During the reading session, director Kim Jung-kyung and the entire cast gathered in one place and delivered a performance reminiscent of real-life emotions. After the reading, a ritual wishing for the safe production and great success of the film was also held. Having cranked in on April 3rd, continues filming throughout Jeju, including Hallim, Jocheon, Gujwa in Jeju City and Pyoseon, Daejeong in Seogwipo City.

is undertaking various collaborations to produce a film that fully embodies the sentiments of Jeju residents, receiving active support from them. In particular, an MOU was signed with Jeju MBC and the Jeju Content Promotion Foundation for fundraising campaigns and production support, and the active participation of many citizens, including Jeju residents, will add meaning as they appear in key scenes of the film.

Recently, the 'Revealing Truth: Jeju 4.3 Archives' was registered as a UNESCO World Documentary Heritage; the film will further elevate the significance of the Jeju 4.3 by being recognized for its historical value, authenticity, and universal importance as a documentary.

The film , which aims to find the true name of the 4.3 Incident on its 77th anniversary, leaves behind the painful history of those who unjustly lost their lives in Jeju and the previous distortion and disparagement of the Jeju 4.3 as a riot. It is aimed to be released during next year's 4.3 week.
