YouTuber Tzuyang filed a request for a provisional disposition against the Garosero Research Institute and its director Kim Se-Ui, while the court ordered the deletion of Tzuyang's private video.
On the 17th, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 51 (Director General Park Sang-Eon) partially granted Tzuyang's request for 'deletion and prohibition of posting of video content' against Gaseyeon and its director Kim Se-Ui.
The court judged, 'The content is sufficient to diminish Tzuyang's social value and evaluation, and it clearly infringes upon matters that should be protected as privacy,' adding that 'posting this on a YouTube channel accessible to an unspecified number of people exceeds the legitimate exercise of rights.'
Mr. Kim revealed last July that Tzuyang was threatened by YouTuber Goojyeok (real name Lee Jun-Hee) and released related transcripts, claiming that Tzuyang was blackmailed over her past work in entertainment establishments.
Afterwards, Tzuyang stated that she worked in entertainment establishments due to assault and coercion by her ex-boyfriend, but Mr. Kim continued to broadcast statements suggesting that Tzuyang's explanation was 'not true.'
Eventually, Tzuyang filed a complaint against Mr. Kim for violating the Stalking Punishment Act, threats, and coercion. The police decided not to prosecute Mr. Kim in February due to insufficient evidence, but the prosecution accepted Tzuyang's objection and requested a supplementary investigation.
In relation to this, Tzuyang appeared at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul on the 16th for a victim investigation related to the supplementary investigation, but after 30 minutes, she refused to be questioned and left the police station.
Tzuyang's legal representative explained, 'It seemed that the police did not regard her as a victim at all, and they appeared to have no intention of providing protection. In addition, there were situations that made us doubt whether a fair investigation was being conducted, so we intend to reconsider the police investigation and will seek to undergo further questioning if necessary.'
