(Following interview ③) Actor Park Hae-jun from the movie ‘YADANG: The Snitch’ admired the performance of senior actor Yoo Hae-jin.

Park Hae-jun conducted an interview on the morning of the 15th at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. He spoke with domestic reporters about the film ‘YADANG: The Snitch’ (director Hwang Byeong-guk, provided/distributed by Plus M Entertainment, produced by HYBE Media Corp).

‘YADANG: The Snitch’ is a crime action film in which broker Lee Gang-soo, who orchestrates the drug scene in South Korea, a prosecutor aiming for higher status, and a detective who bets everything on eradicating drug crime become intertwined, each with different objectives. Among them, Park Hae-jun plays the role of detective Oh Sang-jae, who struggles to combat drug crimes.

In ‘YADANG: The Snitch,’ featuring various actors such as Kang Ha-neul as Lee Gang-soo and Yoo Hae-jin as Koo Kwan-hee, Park Hae-jun was particularly impressed by senior actor Yoo Hae-jin’s portrayal of the villain. Park Hae-jun said, “The film starts off lively in the beginning, but just watching Yoo Hae-jin’s transformation in the middle makes me think that he did it extremely well, but it also raises the question, ‘Can a person really crumble like that?’”

He noted, “Every time I see a senior’s work, it seems like they understand exactly the precise parts and essence the film wants to express. Whether it’s a romance piece like ‘Sweet,’ or the character from ‘Veteran,’ there’s a different feeling. Their understanding of the genre is incredibly high. They know the current genre precisely, and so, I wonder if there has ever been such a prosecutor in past roles. The prosecutor increasingly gains power and reveals desires, which get maximized. The way it’s presented in a calm, orderly manner from the beginning is different at various points and episodes.”

He then emphasized, “So, I was really surprised. The performances by Kang Soo and Ryu Kyung-soo, who plays Jo Hoon, were exceptional. The combination of those three created an intense atmosphere. I think viewers will be shocked. I feel like I’ve never seen a scene like this before.” He further remarked, “I have never seen such a villain before” while expressing amazement.

Park Hae-jun also said, “If I come to an agreement with the director, I tend to try everything out. I usually dive in and think afterward. I incorporate everything that the director or creators requested. That feels more comfortable. It’s easier to shift the blame to others rather than myself.” He smiled while adding, “Actually, I do everything as instructed, but if I were to perform Koo Kwan-hee’s scene, that result is something senior Yoo Hae-jin created after much consideration with the director. I believe it led to an amazing sequence being produced. If I had played Koo Kwan-hee, I don’t think I could have imagined it as beautifully.”

‘YADANG: The Snitch’ is set to be released on the 16th.
