Police release footage from the home of late actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office released new footage and photos of the untidy home of the late actor Gene Hackman, who met a tragic death, and his wife Betsy Arakawa.

The footage obtained and released by Page Six on the 15th (local time) shows police passing through the kitchen, personal bedroom, and small rooms of the late couple's residence, with the rooms appearing cluttered with dog boxes, beds, books, boxes, prescription medications, toiletries, groceries, and many clothing items.

Some parts of the house appeared relatively tidy, but other areas were completely messy. There were still credit entries left in the bathroom toilet, and a bloodstained pillow was placed in the bedroom. According to family members, the Hackmans did not allow housekeepers or cleaners into their home during their lifetime.

The evidence released this time provides further insight into the couple's living conditions prior to their deaths.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Hackman and Arakawa couple's $4 million mansion had become a 'breeding ground for pests.' Numerous dead rodents, feces, and nests were found throughout the mansion.

The Hackman couple was found dead together in a state of decomposition at their Santa Fe home on Feb. 26. Their dog was found dead in a closet several feet away from Arakawa. Fortunately, the other two dogs are in good health.

Hackman suffered from severe heart disease, hypertension, and progressive Alzheimer's disease, while his wife Arakawa died from hantavirus transmitted through rodent feces. Police said it is reasonable to conclude that Arakawa passed away first, and it is likely that Hackman spent several days at home alone with his deceased wife.

Considered one of the greatest actors of his generation, Gene Hackman won two Academy Awards for his roles in 'The French Connection' and 'Unforgiven' during his decades-long career. He retired in 2004 and began a quiet life in Santa Fe with his wife, a concert pianist.
