Broadcaster Park Seul-ki expressed frustration over the baggage policy of low-cost carriers (LCC).
On the 14th, Park Seul-ki posted on her Instagram story about a recent trip to Nha Trang, Vietnam, with her family, stating, "The baggage for the return flight was 0, so I was charged $180 (about 250,000 won) as a proper rip-off."
Park Seul-ki noted, "It’s my fault for not checking, but isn’t it right to sell tickets that are included for the return but not for the departure?" and added, "I shouldn’t fly again."
When Park Seul-ki departed for Vietnam, the checked baggage was included in the ticket price, but it was not included when she returned to Korea.
In response to Park Seul-ki's post, netizens commented, "Low-cost carriers often exclude baggage" and "You must check the baggage policy on the ticket."
Travel experts advise that when using low-cost airlines, travelers should carefully check conditions for checked baggage and in-flight meals. They explain that the additional fee for checked baggage can vary depending on factors such as distance, airline, route, and booking date, and that there can also be variations during special offers or promotions from different airlines.
