Actor Um Tae-woong drew attention as he appeared in public for the first time in about 8 years.

On the 15th, a showcase and VIP premiere of the film ‘YADANG: The Snitch’ took place at the COEX Megabox in Samseong-dong, Seoul.

‘YADANG: The Snitch’ is a crime action film that unfolds as ‘YADANG: The Snitch’, a broker who designs the drug trade in South Korea, a ‘prosecutor’ seeking to rise to greater heights, and a ‘detective’ dedicated to eradicating drug crimes become intertwined, featuring actors Park Hae-joon, Ryu Kyung-soo, Chae Won-bin, Yoo Hae-jin, and Kang Ha-neul.

That day, numerous stars, including Kim Seong-gyoon, Gong Min-jeong, Ha Seo-yoon, Lee Yoo-bi, Lee Min-ho, and Ha Ji-won, attended and showed their support for ‘YADANG: The Snitch’, while actor Um Tae-woong drew attention.

Um Tae-woong, making a rare public appearance, stood at the photo line with an excited expression, smiling leisurely and posing. He noted, “I heard the director has been preparing this for a long time. I believe it will be highly polished and interesting, so I am looking forward to it,” adding his support for the film.

Previously, Um Tae-woong became embroiled in controversy after being accused of sexually assaulting a female employee, referred to as A, at a massage parlor in 2016.

However, the police investigation revealed that A colluded with the owner to accuse Um Tae-woong in order to demand money. This allowed Um Tae-woong to clear himself of the sexual assault accusations, though the fact that he visited an unwholesome massage parlor remained unchanged. Ultimately, he was fined 1 million won for charges related to prostitution.

Afterward, Um Tae-woong took time off for self-reflection following his suspension of activities, and during this time, a year later in 2017, the movie ‘Pork Rain’ was released. However, aside from the official press conference for ‘Pork Rain’ held at the 21st Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn, Estonia, he did not appear at any official events in Korea.

However, he occasionally appeared on his wife Yoon Hye-jin’s YouTube channel ‘What See TV’ where he was in charge of filming. Having shot the film and taken photos, Um Tae-woong recently held a personal photo exhibition, marking his return with a new look.
