Actor Kim Yong-gon talked about the secret to youth.
In the 25th episode of 'Jun Hyun-moo Project 2' (co-produced by MBN and Channel S) broadcast on the 11th, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) met with the 'national actor' Kim Yong-gon in Jeonju to enjoy a delightful food trip featuring 'MZ soul food' and 'country-style meals.'
On that day, Kwak Tube cautiously asked, "Have you ever had 물짜장 (water jjajang) famous in Jeonju?" revealing that he had actually prepared MZ food. In response, Jun Hyun-moo expressed concern, saying, "Today, the oldest among the 'eating friends' is coming, and you plan to serve MZ food?" The guest who later appeared was the entertainment industry lend Kim Yong-gon.
Afterward, Jun Hyun-moo, who met Kim Yong-gon, greeted the lend happily from 'I Live Alone.' Kwak Tube then cautiously asked, "I actually prepared MZ food. Have you ever tried 물짜장?" Kim Yong-gon humorously replied, "Isn't that something you eat mixed with water?" drawing attention. The three then visited one of Jeonju's specialties, a 47-year-old restaurant known for 'red-flavor' 물짜장.
Afterward, the three found a 47-year-old restaurant famous for 'red-flavor' 물짜장 in Jeonju. Kim Yong-gon recalled, "If I remember correctly, in 1967, I received 700 won for an appearance fee. That was the fee for one episode. We gathered 7-8 people to order jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and had some 오향장육 (five-spice pork). We would order one of those. Back then, jjajangmyeon was 100 won, and 오향장육 was around 300 won. After finishing our meals, we would invite the director to enjoy jjajangmyeon together," he reminisced.
Kim Yong-gon also shared the secret to his 'youthfulness.' He said, "I don't drink much alcohol and it's been 25 years since I quit smoking. It wasn't easy to quit." To this, Jun Hyun-moo inquired, "How old are you this year? I can't gauge it," and Kim Yong-gon replied, "I'm 80," shocking everyone. Jun Hyun-moo remarked, "You have such a full head of hair, your waist is straight, and your skin is good. You look exactly the same as when I did 'I Live Alone' 10 years ago," unable to hide his admiration. Regarding his secret, Kim Yong-gon humbly stated, "As an actor, you have to take care of yourself. That's the difference. Also, I do masks often, every other day. I do it fairly regularly. I think having a lot of hair also plays a significant role in that."
Discussion also turned to Kim Yong-gon's daughter-in-law, actress Hwang Bora. Kwak Tube asked, "Isn't your daughter-in-law famous? I heard she's friendly like your daughter," and inquired about how often they meet. Kim Yong-gon responded, "We meet often, especially since I have a grandchild." He added, "Ironically, I have a little kid, a grandson who acts like a baby," which made Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube solemn. Observing their reaction, Kim Yong-gon remarked, "Why are you getting so sentimental all of a sudden? I thought you might be curious, so I'll leave it at that," jokingly, to which Jun Hyun-moo replied, "Since we're discussing it, let's talk more," making everyone burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, on this day in 'Jun Hyun-moo Project 2,' Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) met with 1.2 million subscriber YouTuber Director General Matsuda in Tokushima, Japan, as they uncovered hidden dining and drinking spots in the area. Previously, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube visited a 220-year-old brewery where they enjoyed 'fresh sake,' feeling emotional. On this day as well, the three headed to the local restaurants selected by Matsuda for their 'Matsuda Plan.'
While walking, Director General Matsuda stopped in front of a restaurant, revealing an unexpected tip about Japanese dining, saying, "The dirtier the noren (a traditional Japanese curtain), the better the restaurant." After enjoying sushi, they washed their hands on the noren, relating that there is a theory that dirtiness indicates a good restaurant. The three then quickly finished their arrangements at the 'Matsuda restaurant' before taking their seats.
At this point, when the restaurant staff brought water, Director General Matsuda placed it at a distance and said, "I usually hold off on drinking water around 4 p.m." explaining that it was to enjoy beer better, which shocked everyone. Jun Hyun-moo added, "That's addiction. It's an early symptom of alcohol addiction," making everyone laugh. Director General Matsuda shared, "Once you suppress the exhilarating taste of the first sip of beer with the drink, it creates a feeling of pleasure. Honestly, I ordered a beer I had been anticipating, but it wasn’t what I wanted. If it's not refreshing, I'm just irritated by the world."
Afterward, when dishes such as sashimi accompanied by the Tokushima specialty 스다치 (sudachi) and the sea bream clay pot rice were served, the three exclaimed, "Wow! This is amazing!" and "The moisture is incredible!" reacting as if they were enthusiastic followers of a new religion.
