The members of the girl group NewJeans, currently in a contract dispute with ADOR, have issued a message to fans.
On the 11th, NewJeans stated on their social media account, “We received the letters you sent. They moved me to tears. Each letter is precious, and I read them all without fail every day.” They added, “Honestly, there are times when I’m afraid to receive so much love. That’s why I want to be someone that the Bunnies can be proud of.”
The members, who are focusing on legal disputes after declaring a temporary suspension of activities, said, “We are going through a tough time right now, but we gain the most strength when we communicate with the Bunnies. The letters sent by the Bunnies truly give us great strength.”
They also affirmed, “There will come a time when we can all enjoy songs that the Bunnies like and that will make them happy.”
NewJeans added, “We are eating well, sleeping well, listening to a lot of music, and spending enjoyable time with our families and members every day. We are also having happy times thinking of the Bunnies. So I hope the Bunnies stay healthy and have happy days every day.”
The members of NewJeans unilaterally declared the termination of their contract with ADOR in November last year and have been engaging in solo activities. Instead of using the name NewJeans, which is trademarked by ADOR, they have been using ‘NJZ.’
The Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Division 50 (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) issued a ruling on the 21st of last month, accepting a petition filed by ADOR against the members of NewJeans for a ‘provisional injunction regarding the preservation of agency status and prohibition of the signing of advertisement contracts.’
Subsequently, on the 23rd of the same month, the members of NewJeans announced a temporary suspension of activities at ComplexCon in Hong Kong. The social media account name used by the parents of NJZ was changed to ‘mhdhh_friends.’ ‘mhdhh’ combines the initials of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and HAEIN. They also deleted all previously posted statements. This letter was left in a story format that is available for just one day.
The members of NewJeans filed an objection to the injunction ruling. A hearing related to this took place on the 9th in private.
The first oral argument regarding the lawsuit filed by ADOR to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract with NewJeans began on the 4th. Claims emerged during this process that there were disagreements among the parents of NewJeans, and it was confirmed that the court ruled in favor of A, the mother of member HAEIN, in a custody adjustment lawsuit against B, the father.
The parents of NewJeans also issued a rebuttal regarding claims that there was a division among them, stating that it was not true.
