In "Villains Everywhere," So Yoo-jin pressed the laughter button in the living room with an ideal character portrayal.
In the KBS2 Wednesday sitcom "Villains Everywhere," So Yoo-jin plays the role of Oh Yoo-jin, an elite culinary researcher with a sharp personality, but her charming human side is revealed every time she is with family. In particular, she has gained sympathy with her sister's chemistry, which is filled with bickering yet genuine care for each other, especially when they meet.
In the 14th episode of "Villains Everywhere," which aired on the 9th, a scene where Yoo-jin faces great trouble due to Na-ra's belief in fortune-telling was depicted.
Seeing Na-ra delighted that she could now check fortunes on her phone, Yoo-jin scolded her, saying none of it was true. Na-ra proudly claimed that thanks to her sacrifice, Yoo-jin would give birth to Song Gang (played by Eun-chan) on an auspicious day. However, Yoo-jin dismissed Na-ra's words, saying Song Gang's merits came from her and her husband’s genes.
When Yoo-jin, who was excited about getting a chance to cook on home shopping, was told by Na-ra that her fortune was bad, Yoo-jin, angry, attempted to prove the fortune wrong by eating dumplings filled with pork that were forbidden in her fortune. Although she felt signs of a stomach ache, Yoo-jin pretended not to notice and vowed not to mention fortune-telling again if she was okay while using stairs that her fortune said to avoid. However, as her stomach issues intensified, Na-ra urged her not to appear on the broadcast, prompting Yoo-jin to cleverly proceed with her home shopping appearance.
As Yoo-jin began cooking live octopus, she started to panic upon witnessing Na-ra, who had painted herself red, claiming it could ward off misfortune. Although home shopping was thrown into chaos due to Na-ra's intrusion, ultimately, Na-ra saved Yoo-jin's life, leading Yoo-jin to acknowledge Na-ra. The commotion of the day left Na-ra with an even firmer belief in fortune-telling, while Yoo-jin gave a subtle smile that brought laughter.
So Yoo-jin is further captivating audiences with her character portrayal, which is fully immersed in her role, meticulous acting skills, and a sense of humor. While aiming for perfection, she has taken on a character with human qualities, enhancing immersion through dynamic performance. Particularly, her chemistry with her sister Oh Na-ra, marked by constant clashes yet mutual care, has definitely secured its place as a comedic highlight of the series.
