In 'Dad and Me,' Park Han-byul, who had a six-year hiatus due to her husband’s Burning Sun controversy, mentioned her attempt to return last year which did not materialize, explaining her decision to retire but later resolve to return.

On the 8th, Park Han-byul shared her honest feelings on 'Dad and Me' through TV Chosun’s entertainment program.

Earlier, in 2019, Park Han-byul's husband was implicated in the Burning Sun incident, and due to the ensuing controversy, she isolated herself from the world, spending her break in Jeju Island. During her peak, she put all activities in the entertainment industry on hold. Park Han-byul said, "It is very regrettable regarding my husband’s situation, but as his wife, I felt a shared sense of responsibility," explaining the reason for her six-year hiatus.

After organizing everything, she reported on starting a new life in Jeju. Park Han-byul said, "After moving to Jeju Island, my dad came along and has been a huge support," and her father noted, "After six years, it feels like coming out of a long tunnel. Looking back now, you endured for a long time," expressing hopes that "my daughter will only have laughter and live well during her happy years".

The next morning dawned. A father and daughter decided to climb the oreum. Park Han-byul's dad slowly opened up about his daughter's return to broadcasting. In response, Park Han-byul said, "I had not dreamed of returning. I established a café to look for another job." However, Park Han-byul received unexpected messages from many customers visiting her café, saying, "When will you come out? I want to see you quickly," and she reflected, "I thought I had been entirely abandoned, but it seems there are many people waiting for me," thus explaining her reason to resolve to return.

Furthermore, Park Han-byul said, "I actually thought about returning starting last year," adding, "The wall was too high and it was difficult to get over that wall. There were several unfortunate events," confessing that the return process was not easy. She remarked, "Just because I think so doesn't mean it will happen; due to the nature of the job, the public has to want me to come out." Park Han-byul stated, "(When customers ask about my return) I want to come out too, but it doesn’t happen just as I wish."

At the end of the broadcast, her father expressed, "My daughter has suffered a lot until now, and I’m proud and amazed at my daughter who has endured so steadily," adding, "Mom, I hope you will be loved by everyone as an actress and that you maintain a happy family just as it is now. I love you, my daughter."
