Actor Robert Pattinson is expected to grant in the movie "Dune 3."
According to a report from Deadline on the 8th (local time), while nothing has been officially confirmed yet, Pattinson is showing "strong interest" in the casting of "Dune 3."
If he joins this anticipated sequel, he will be alongside the existing cast, including Timothy Chalamet (playing Paul Atreides) and Zendaya Collins (playing Chani) from "Dune" and "Dune 2." He will also work with Florence Pugh, who portrayed Princess Irulan in "Dune 2" released in 2024. Movie fans are already expressing great anticipation, saying they are "excited."
If Pattinson grants, he is expected to transform into a villain. According to sources, Pattinson is set to play the villain character Skytail.
Skytail appears in the third book of the original series. Chalamet's Paul Atreides maintains a secretive relationship with Chani while continuing to occupy the emperor's position with Princess Irulan. Skytail challenges Atreides' rule and threatens his dominion established in the first two films.
Director Denis Villeneuve, who directed "Dune" and "Dune 2," will also direct this film based on a script co-written with John Spaihts. This script is produced based on Frank Herbert's novel.
The project is expected to start this summer, and Legendary and Warner Brothers have confirmed a release date of Dec. 18, 2026.
Meanwhile, Pattinson recently granted in director Bong Joon-ho's science fiction film "Mickey 17." He has also completed filming for "Die My Love" and "The Drama." Currently, he is filming "The Odyssey" directed by Christopher Nolan and is set to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in "The Batman 2," which is targeting a 2027 release.
