Artist G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) is embarking on a challenge to transmit his music and a music video utilizing Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI's Sora into space in collaboration with the AI entertainment corporations Galaxy Corporation and KAIST. As a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST, his attempt is expected to become a milestone for the future of 'entertainment technology,' encompassing space science, AI, and the entertainment sector.
The ‘G-Dragon Space Music Transmission Project’ taking place on the 9th at 8 p.m. at KAIST’s Space Research Institute captures the future of entertainment technology transcending space and time, in cooperation with Galaxy Corporation and KAIST. This is evaluated as an artistic experiment that goes beyond a simple musical attempt to permanently preserve human culture in space and attempt communication with other civilizations.
In particular, this transmission is linked with the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration's 'Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence' (SETI) project. SETI is a historical project that transmitted the music of the British rock band The Beatles into space, and the G-Dragon Space Music Transmission Project is South Korea’s first SETI project.
Meanwhile, Galaxy Corporation has been building a cooperative relationship with KAIST since last year and plans to lead the future entertainment industry through the fusion of entertainment and technology that transcends space and time. Recently, it held a private meeting with Microsoft (MS) CEO Satya Nadella as the only entertainment technology corporation, actively promoting the globalization of AI entertainment technology.
