It has been reported that Wang Shaopei, a Chinese businessman and the first husband of the late Shih Wei-yuan, is preparing to remarry influencer Ma Shaomei, who is 18 years younger, just three months after Shih's death.
According to Chinese QQ News on the 9th, Wang is set to hold a lavish wedding on the 17th of next month at a hotel in Beijing, inviting close relatives and acquaintances. The couple reportedly registered their marriage last year.
The wedding venue will blend traditional Chinese elements with modern art pieces, decorated with custom-made chocolates. Ma Shaomei is expected to wear a wedding dress embellished with 999 diamonds.
Koo Jun-yeob and Shih Wei-yuan first met in 1998, dated for about a year, and then separated. Shih later married Wang Shaopei in 2011, giving birth to one son and one daughter before divorcing in 2021.
Koo Jun-yeob contacted Shih Wei-yuan upon hearing the news of her divorce, and the two reunited after 23 years, registering their marriage. Their love story garnered attention and support, likened to a movie. However, Shih suddenly passed away from pneumonia complications while traveling with family in Japan on the 2nd.
On the 6th, Koo Jun-yeob said, 'On February 2, 2025, my angel returned to heaven,' adding, 'I am currently going through a time of unspeakable sadness and pain, as if my insides are being torn apart. I have no strength to speak, nor do I want to,' revealing his grief.
Shih Wei-yuan's funeral was held on the 15th of last month at Jinbao Mountain, Taiwan. The ceremony was attended by Koo Jun-yeob and Shih's family, while Wang Shaopei did not make an appearance. Taiwanese media reported that 'Wang was not invited.'
