Writer Kim Song-hee and Director Lee Min-soo shared the behind-the-scenes of 'Resident Playbook.'

As the new tvN weekend drama 'Resident Playbook' (created by Shin Won-ho and Lee Woo-jung, directed by Lee Min-soo, written by Kim Song-hee, planned by CJ ENM Studios, produced by Egg Is Coming) will air for the first time on the 12th, Kim Song-hee, who is in charge of the script, and Lee Min-soo, who is in charge of the direction, brightened expectations by revealing the process of expanding the Yulje universe and their connection with the actors.

In particular, 'Resident Playbook', being the first spin-off of the 'Hospital Playlist' series, which was loved by viewers for its heartwarming story, Kim Song-hee said, "It is a fortune and a blessing to be able to work on the spin-off of the drama in which I spent the longest and most rewarding time as a supporting writer." Director Lee Min-soo also noted, "I did my best to meet expectations. I hope viewers enjoy it with an open heart," solidifying his determination.

Kim Song-hee, who hinted at an expanded universe as a spin-off of the 'Hospital Playlist' series, shared, "Continuing the space of Yulje, I aimed to maintain the tone and atmosphere of the story 'Hospital Playlist' has, to provide familiarity, and to change the characters to residents to introduce a new fun of the youth's growth story," revealing her work process.

Regarding the reason for setting the background in obstetrics and gynecology, she said, "It is the only department where births occur, and the story of obstetrics and gynecology, where families are formed as babies are born and where one eventually has to say goodbye to loved ones as they age, closely resembles the human life cycle," arousing curiosity.

Since it deals with the growth stories of new graduates and patients, Director Lee Min-soo explained the importance of casting, saying, "The protagonists are burning their youth for the patients and sometimes getting scolded because of them. They are characters who grow by realizing things they didn’t know and feeling emotions they weren’t aware of, so casting the right patients was important. Even if a character appears for just one scene, we invited performers who are really good at acting."

Moreover, regarding the actors who will lead the drama as first-year residents, Director Lee Min-soo stated that it was important to find actors who could best showcase the character's charm, saying, "It seems there will also be fun in watching our actors grow alongside the characters. As episodes progress, the actors' performances will become richer, and the story will become more interesting. I kindly ask that you watch with an open mind," adding to the viewing points.

Finally, Kim Song-hee remarked, "The story is about the protagonists taking their first steps into society, rolling and breaking as they grow. Additionally, I hope it can be a time that warms the heart a little by providing support and empathy through the stories of the hospital people who are striving to give birth and to heal," making the first broadcast eagerly anticipated.

Meanwhile, the stories of new graduates writing their own growth stories in the new space of Yulje Hospital can be seen in the new tvN weekend drama 'Resident Playbook,' which will be broadcast for the first time on the 12th at 9:10 p.m.
