The individual, who contracted a disease due to bullying within the team, appears on 'Ask Anything'.
In the 311th episode of 'Ask Anything' aired on the 7th on KBS Joy, the individual, who is currently active as a baseball player in an independent league in Japan, appeared alongside a friend to share their concerns.
On that day, the individual stated, "I developed Crohn's disease due to bullying stress while playing baseball in Japan." The friend who appeared together introduced that they are currently active in a junior college baseball team.
Hearing the story of the bullying, Lee Soo-keun expressed anger, saying, "How could this happen?" The individual lamented, "They drank noisily until dawn the day before the game. During practice, they deliberately hit a baseball at me and pretended it was a mistake." They continued, sharing that after coming to Korea and starting badminton, they found it so enjoyable that they are considering transitioning from baseball to badminton. Seo Jang-hoon laughed, saying, "That’s crazy."
When Seo Jang-hoon asked, "When did you start playing baseball? Did you move to the independent league in Japan because you weren’t drafted? How many years have you been playing?" the individual explained, "I started baseball in the winter of 5th grade and moved to independent baseball in Japan because I wasn’t drafted. I’m currently in my 2nd year and came to Korea after re-signing." Seo Jang-hoon then asked, "You came back after re-signing but you want to switch to badminton?" causing the friend to burst out laughing.
In response to a question about their relationship, the friend said, "We’ve been friends since middle school." When Lee Soo-keun asked, "What do you think of him as a fellow player?" the friend replied, "I want to encourage him to keep playing baseball, but seeing him lose weight made me think it must have been tough for him."
When the cast asked, "If you re-signed, doesn't that mean you're doing well? Will you be a starter?" the individual replied, "I was a starter in my first season, but my health worsened, so I stumbled."
Seo Jang-hoon, who said he played baseball for about four years as a child, remarked, "In basketball, there’s hardly any dramatic change in skills at your age. However, unlike basketball, in baseball, the skills differ between being a student and an adult. It would be a waste to give up baseball after playing for 7 to 8 years. Can't you coach a badminton club later?"
Seeing the hesitant individual, Lee Soo-keun remarked, "It seems you don't want to do it now, especially after getting sick."
Seo Jang-hoon asked, "Why not talk to the coach or management?" to which the individual replied, "I talked to them, and they changed my room." When asked, "What’s the atmosphere like now? Do they still bully you?" the individual mentioned, "That player got cut," referring to the improved atmosphere.
Later, the individual expressed a strong desire to play badminton, saying, "I really enjoy badminton," to which Seo Jang-hoon showed a look of frustration, saying, "Come on."
Lee Soo-keun also offered realistic advice saying, "It's fun because it’s a hobby. Once it becomes a job, you'll get stressed and have your own troubles." Seo Jang-hoon added, "There are many who quit as badminton players but still coach clubs, so it won't be easy." Lee Soo-keun then jokingly asked, "Are you going to Seo Jang-hoon's basketball class or my basketball class?"
Finally, Seo Jang-hoon said earnestly as a sportsman, "You don’t have many years left. Take it on as your life mission. Effort and earnestness will lead you into the professional world. Honestly, if you don't have that mindset, quit now."
