EXO member Kai (affiliated with SME) opens a new world of the Afrobeats genre with the performance of his new song "Wait On Me."
The title track "Wait On Me" from Kai's new mini album, set to be released on the 21st at 6 p.m., is an Afrobeats song that captures the aesthetics of waiting in its lyrics, blending percussion with restrained groove and a synth string sound that elevates the tension.
The performance of "Wait On Me" particularly features rhythmic movements that suit the genre, including an attractive Afrobeats dance, along with key choreography that intuitively expresses the lyrics "Wait" using palms and fingers, and a dance break that showcases explosive power and intricate group formations, expected to captivate the audience.
Additionally, the performance production involves world-renowned choreographer Shay Latukolan, along with choreographers Badari and Jayric, who have collaborated with Kai multiple times, and 10 dancers complete the "calculated choreography" with Kai to provide an exhilarating thrill.
Kai will premiere the stage for "Wait On Me" at the album showcase held on the 21st at 8 p.m. at YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, which will be broadcast live on YouTube and Weverse EXO channel, and is expected to captivate fans with a performance worthy of his reputation as a "world-class performer."
Meanwhile, EXO, to which Kai belongs, will hold a live broadcast titled "EXO: 13IRTHDAY HOME PARTY" celebrating their 13th debut anniversary today (8th) from 8 p.m. on the YouTube, TikTok, and Weverse EXO channels.
