Japanese actor Hirose Ryoko (45) was arrested on accusations of assaulting a nurse.

According to NHK and others on the 8th, Hirose was arrested for allegedly assaulting a nurse and causing injuries at a hospital in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

It is reported that Hirose assaulted the nurse by kicking and scratching her arm around 12:20 p.m. that day.

He was transported to the hospital after a collision with a large trailer on the Shintome Expressway in Kakegawa City around 7 p.m. the previous day. It is also reported that his manager was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Police noted that they are "investigating the details of the incident."

The agency, of which Hirose is the CEO, issued a statement, apologizing for causing much inconvenience and worry to those affected, and stated, "Hirose plans to refrain from all entertainment activities for the time being."

Hirose was a popular actress in the 1990s, often referred to as Japan's "national little sister," and gained recognition in Korea for her leading roles in films such as "The Railroad Man" and "Secret."

Hirose married fashion designer Okazawa Takahiro in 2003 but divorced in 2008. He remarried candle artist Candle Jun in 2010, and they have three children together from both marriages. However, after an affair rumor surfaced with the famous chef Toba Shusaku, who is nine years younger, he divorced Jun the same year. He was also previously involved in infidelity allegations with actor Sato Takeru, who is nine years younger, in 2014.
