'Good Day' has completed the recording of the group song 'Telepathy.' Amidst the backdrop of Kim Soo-hyun being removed without a trace due to personal controversies that hinted at a complete edit, portions of the remake with newly joined members were released, increasing expectations.
The broadcast of MBC 'Good Day' aired on the 6th, where the assembly continued following last week's discussions. Aespa made their appearance as new members, and during this broadcast, the auction of G-Dragon's precious items caught attention after the participation of Jung Haein, Kim Goeun, Hong Jin Kyung, and Chef Anh Sung-jae.
G-Dragon auctioned 'Jiyong rights' that allow the bearer to utilize him at will. Defconn asked, "Can you fulfill any request?" to which G-Dragon immediately replied, "Anything." He said that everything was possible, including cleaning, challenges, music videos, cameos, concert guests, featuring, and duet songs. Aespa's Ningning cautiously asked, "Can you catch a cockroach?" and G-Dragon, surprised, replied, "I’m good at catching bugs."
Amidst fierce competition, Hong Jin Kyung wrote down 10 million won, and Defconn scolded, "What are you doing spending 10 million won?" Hong Jin Kyung responded, "It's my choice. I wrote it with a desperate heart," and Defconn suggested, "Since the enthusiasm is so hot, we should rather let G-Dragon choose." With a uniform price set at 2 million won, G-Dragon chose Aespa. After receiving the usage rights, Ningning asked, "Cockroach or featuring or concert?" and G-Dragon replied, "Whichever you wish for." Aespa stated they would discuss among the members before making a decision, generating anticipation.
The final auction amount was recorded at 16 million 880 thousand won. The entire amount was donated to the National Disaster Relief Association. Afterward, Defconn announced, "Someone has arrived. This person has never been introduced on Good Day. G-Dragon's secret weapon hidden card," introducing CL. He praised, "G-Dragon has talked so much about CL. She needs to be on 'Good Day'," and CL playfully replied, "That can’t be true?" showcasing their sibling-like chemistry.
Next, the identity of the group song was revealed. The group song they are remaking is 'Telepathy' by Doshi-idols, released in 1988. G-Dragon expressed, "This feels almost like a round song, and there’s really no relation to the vocal range. If we reinterpret the songs that come to mind when we forget about them, I think we can listen to them all together. I think that’s why we made this song selection."
The members began instant group practice, and G-Dragon was moved as he remarked, "This picture is amazing. I did this for this picture. Why am I already so emotional?" He further shared, "It feels somewhat like a dream even now. Jiyong, what have you done?" and added that he felt proud that they all helped select the parts based on the songs played in the group setting.
Defconn noted, "Today, thanks to us all coming together, I think G-Dragon gained a big tip. Individual recordings are still ahead. I hope everyone enjoys this until the very end," and G-Dragon shared, "When good people communicate and gather, good days become possible."
The recording scene for the group song was also revealed. With Code Kunst providing support, G-Dragon began recording with the first arrivals, Hwang Kwanghee, Yim Siwan, Jung Haein, and Cho Sae-ho. Cho Sae-ho asked, "Are we all recording together?" and G-Dragon replied, "Only those who I called and who have time today can come."
G-Dragon remarked, "Now there are even people who recognize the song just by looking into each other's eyes. There are those I’m meeting for the first time, and since it’s a project where we all match up together having fun, I added 'Moonlight by the Window' from Doshi-idols after 'Telepathy,' which made the organization clear." He mentioned, "I’ve only completed the framework. Now I need to fill in the moonlight. There will be empty parts in between too. If needed, we can first record. (The completeness of the song) we can think of it as about 30% done."
Cho Sae-ho asked, "Is there a chance some parts will be missed?" G-Dragon joked, "Even without trying, some parts are already omitted." When he was asked about distribution of parts, G-Dragon explained, "The starting point is 88. When we start with the first verse, I think we can see sequentially whose voice fits well. Everyone's voice needs to be recognized and highlighted, and it has to be enjoyable—absolutely."
In particular, there was no trace of Kim Soo-hyun at the recording site, while new member Day6 made an appearance that caught attention. Jeong Hyung Don expressed, "Thank you for being busy. You all are the last puzzle piece of 'Good Day.' It’s the day to draw the image of the dragon’s eye. Thank you very much for coming despite being very busy," and G-Dragon welcomed Day6’s participation in the project while on tour, expressing gratitude.
Sequentially, the recording proceeded, and at the end of the broadcast, the last story of 'Good Day' was teased. The faces and voices of all members who participated in the recording except for Kim Soo-hyun appeared one after another, and the caption "Coming Soon" surfaced, raising curiosity for the completed group song.
Meanwhile, the producers of 'Good Day' were criticized for continuing the recording as scheduled despite the personal controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun. In response, the production team explained, "In a situation where the recording of 'Good Day' was delayed, we waited for an official statement from Kim Soo-hyun's agency. However, due to the agency's indication that they would make a statement next week (as of March 13), and that securing the scheduling of participants would be difficult thereafter, we had no choice but to proceed with the recording after much deliberation." They continued, "After careful discussion, the production team conducted the recording and sketch shooting considering the deletion of portions so as to minimally overlap with other participants. We believe that as long as controversies surrounding the participants continue, the good intentions behind 'Good Day,' along with the sincere sentiment of participating individuals and the love from the viewers who empathize and support, could be continually harmed," while stating that they would edit Kim Soo-hyun’s parts as much as possible and that the individual recording process conducted on March 13 would "not be broadcasted."
