Singer Hong Sin-bok, known for the hit song 'If I Go to Nason', passed away at the age of 72 on the 6th.
According to the popular music industry, Hong Sin-bok died of nephritis that morning. He had reportedly been undergoing dialysis for 30 years due to poor kidney health.
Hong Sin-bok was born in 1953 in Daegu. He formed the group Sesam Trio with Kwon Seong-hee and Jeon Hang in 1977, releasing 'If I Go to Nason' the following year in 1978. After releasing the second album 'Oooo, White Wings' in 1979, he left the group.
Afterward, Hong Sin-bok formed the 'Rainbow Trio' in 1980 with Ham Young-mi and Kim Young-soo. That same year, they participated in the '80 TBC World Song Festival' and won with 'The Road of Love.' After leaving the Rainbow Trio, he primarily worked as a composer, writing hits such as 'Lonely Lover' and 'Is This Okay?' for singer Kim Soo-hee.
He is survived by his spouse and son. The funeral is prepared at the 1st funeral room of Hanil Hospital in Dobong-gu, Seoul. The burial will take place on the 8th at 5:30 a.m.
