The group Kiss of Life apologized once again for the racism controversy in a handwritten letter.

The members of Kiss of Life published a handwritten letter in English on their official social media on the 6th, conveying their apologies to fans.

The members stated, "We sincerely apologize for uploading content that caused great disappointment to our fans" and "We should have told you sooner, and we apologize for only being able to do so now."

They also explained, "Our intention was to show how much we love the old school hip-hop genre," adding, "However, we took the concept too far in the process of filming the content, and later realized that the content dealt with culturally sensitive issues. We take full responsibility for that action and promise to do better in the future."

Additionally, they stated, "Over the past few days, we have learned how our actions disappointed many people and had time to reflect. We know that no words or actions can magically correct the mistakes we made. What we can promise is that we will continue to learn and show sincerity through actions rather than words."

Finally, they conveyed, "We sincerely regret this choice and deeply apologize for causing pain and discomfort to our fans. This incident has become a valuable learning opportunity for us," adding, "Your support means more to us than anything else in the world, and we will do our best to respect you in the future."

Meanwhile, Kiss of Life held a live broadcast on the 2nd to celebrate member Julie's birthday. On that day, Kiss of Life's concept was old school hip-hop, showcasing various styles, particularly focusing on Black female rappers, which led to the racism controversy.

The issue is that overseas fans have been heavily criticizing this. Overseas fans pointed out that the Black accent of Kiss of Life in the video was caricatured, that culturally sensitive braided hairstyles were used as accessories, and that they mocked the naming conventions of Black individuals by referring to "Lil Taco."

In relation to this, the management company S2 Entertainment published an apology on their official social media on the 4th, stating, "We apologize for using expressions and styles that follow stereotypes of specific races in the birthday content uploaded on the 2nd."

In the apology, Kiss of Life explained, "The content was produced based on the old school hip-hop style, as indicated, and we intended to express that atmosphere in respect for this culture. However, we did not sufficiently recognize that it could be perceived as reinforcing stereotypes about specific races."

Furthermore, they emphasized, "We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable as a result. The members are also taking this matter seriously, and we will approach cultural elements more cautiously and with greater respect in the future."
