Legendary writer Kim Eun-hee is pouring her heart into 'Signal' season 2.
In a broadcast of MBC's 'Questions from Son Seok-hee' aired on the 1st, Kim Eun-hee, appearing alongside writer Kim Eun-sook, revealed in response to a question about her next work, "It took 9 years from 'Signal' to season 2. It's not just up to me to write the script. There are the actors' schedules and various complex processes. I am currently preparing 'the second signal.'"
He emphasized that "My original goal was to finish writing the script and appear on 'Questions.' I tend to write the latter part of the script while adjusting the front. I am currently writing episodes 7 to 8. All three main characters will still be there. The other artificial element of 'Signal' is the radio."
The 2016 drama 'Signal' depicts detectives in the present and past connected through a desperate radio call trying to solve cold cases. It uniquely combines elements of time-slip and mystery investigation genres, effectively presenting them and gaining a syndrome-level popularity.
'Close friend' Kim Eun-sook expressed her expectations for the next season by stating, "If you ended 'Signal' like that, don’t you have to write the next one?" She added, "If you can't write a romance, I will be your assistant writer, so you must write season 2. Watching 'Signal's plastic bag scene, I thought, 'Kim Eun-hee is a genius!'" offering generous praise.
In response, Kim Eun-hee noted that she is working hard and raised expectations for 2026.
Writers Kim Eun-sook and Kim Eun-hee first met at the 'SBS 2011 First Half Production Awards' held at SBS in July 2011, where they received the Best Drama Award and the Excellence Award for 'Secret Garden' and 'Sign,' respectively. They have continued their strong bond and contributed to the development of Korean drama.
