(Following Interview①) The director and writer of 'My Dearest Nemesis' expressed their affection for lead actress Moon Ga-young.

Recently, on the 24th of last month, 'My Dearest Nemesis' aired its finale. Director Lee Soo-hyun and writer Kim Soo-yeon conducted a written interview with OSEN.

'My Dearest Nemesis' is an office romance of unsealing between team leader Baek Soo-jung, who suffers from a first love that has turned into a dark history, and 'Chaebol 3rd generation' Deputy Minister Ban Joo-yeon, who hides her otaku self, the black dragon. It concluded with its 11th episode on the 24th (Mon), wrapping up the series.

In particular, Moon Ga-young, who played the role of Baek Soo-jung, delicately portrayed the complex emotional lines tied to a first love that was the biggest dark history of her life. Moon Ga-young not only showcased her exquisite emotional acting but also her witty comedic performance, solidifying her position as a romantic comedy goddess by creating diverse chemistry at the center of the characters.

Regarding the casting of Moon Ga-young, Director Lee Soo-hyun said, "Moon Ga-young was the character I envisioned as soon as I saw the script. I was confident that Moon Ga-young would perfectly embody the Soo-jung character."

He continued, "Due to the nature of romantic comedies, there are many aspects that an actor needs to fill in to enhance the character's charm and the tone and manners of the work, and since it was Moon Ga-young, the romance between Soo-jung and Joo-yeon could come out alluring and lovely. Her acting skills, as well as her attitude and mindset on set, were all points worthy of learning, making her a wonderful actress. I was simply able to capture it on screen, so I felt thankful throughout the production phase."

Additionally, Director Lee, who had previously worked with Moon Ga-young in 'That Man's Memory,' mentioned, "At that time, the character played by Moon Ga-young, Yeo Ha-jin, had a cute childish aspect, but Baek Soo-jung in 'My Dearest Nemesis' exhibits leadership and depth, which sets her apart. This highlighted a different charm of Moon Ga-young compared to her previous role."

He also said, "In this work, the romance featured a younger woman and an older man relationship, where Soo-jung occasionally leads and embraces Joo-yeon, which I thought was one of the charm points. Moon Ga-young handled this beautifully. She is also a technically clever and intelligent actress. Especially, her profound understanding of emotions and her ability to deliver the needed performance at the right moments made it impossible to choose anyone but her. While I was pleased to work together again, I also had some apprehensions. However, thanks to Moon Ga-young's consideration, the chemistry on set was great, and shooting was enjoyable and happy throughout."

Writer Kim Soo-yeon also noted, "I had a belief that Moon Ga-young, whom I had been a fan of since 'That Man's Memory,' would do well, and she perfectly fulfilled that belief. Her performance reflected the expertise of a 'romantic comedy craftsman,' which helped anchor the plot. I felt the importance of the charm that an actor possesses. If Soo-jung was amazing, cute, or lovely, it would all be thanks to Moon Ga-young."
