KBS will broadcast a special documentary titled "We Do Not Say Goodbye" on April 7, marking 100 days since the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.

On Dec. 29, 2024, the most tragic aviation accident in South Korea's history occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do. A massive tragedy unfolded with 179 passengers losing their lives, yet the incident was overshadowed by chaotic domestic political issues.

This documentary has closely followed and filmed the families of the victims from the day of the accident until 100 days later. It aims to present the currently lesser-known lives of the bereaved families in depth and emphasize the need for empathy and solidarity to overcome the tragedy.

Through the stories of Kim Seong-cheol, who lost his daughter and wife; Na Myeong-rye, who sent off her son and future daughter-in-law; and Park In-wook, a public servant from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries who had recovered the ferry Sewol and the ferry Seohae, but lost five family members in the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster, it reveals that the catastrophe is not merely a personal misfortune but a matter for the entire community. It reiterates that the loss of awareness regarding safety complacency is the biggest reason behind repeated tragedies. Furthermore, it aims to illustrate that when society mourns together and overcomes sorrow, it can step into a better world.

Scenes of the bereaved families preparing for the Lunar New Year celebrations at the Muan Airport shelter demonstrate that community solidarity can foster a warm humanity. In the scenes of the 49th day ritual and burning paper clothes, viewers will witness the mature struggles of humans trying to overcome their sorrow.

Above all, the narration by actor Han Seok-kyu is noteworthy. Han expressed his willingness to participate, noting, "If my voice can offer comfort and strength to the bereaved families, I will gladly join," and he demonstrated why solidarity is important through his actions. Throughout the dubbing process, he shared in the families' emotions, red-eyed, and after finishing the dubbing, he aimed to convey a message of comfort to the families with a choked voice.

The production team of the documentary "100 Days After the Jeju Air Passenger Plane Disaster: We Do Not Say Goodbye" stated, "We hope this disaster will never be forgotten and will help foster a social atmosphere to take responsibility for the tragedy."
