An actress Scarlett Johansson's stalker was arrested on charges of threatening to blow up the SNL studio where her husband Colin Jost works.
The 48-year-old stalker, Michael Joseph Branham, was arrested on the 2nd (local time) in New York City. He is accused of sending a text message saying, "Next time I send a text, I will be on CNN for blowing up a bomb in the Saturday Night Live audience."
According to a criminal complaint confirmed by the New York Post, prosecutors considered Branham a threatening individual and charged him with felonies. He is reported to have been personally obsessed with Scarlett Johansson.
The bail was set at over $100,000 (Hanwha 146.15 million won).
Branham's attorney claimed in court that he was scammed by someone impersonating Scarlett Johansson.
Branham is reported to have a large heart tattoo on his body with Scarlett Johansson's name written on it.
Earlier in November 2023, he appeared at Scarlett Johansson's house and claimed to be the father of one of her children, and Johansson later attempted to get a restraining order against him but failed.
He also left several letters and children's toys outside Scarlett Johansson's mansion. A note he is said to have left expressed his desire to meet his child and spend time together as a father. He also posted on social media as if he were in a relationship with Scarlett Johansson.
The stalker will appear in court on the 8th.
