In the episode of KBS 2TV 'Salim-nam Season 2' (hereafter 'Salim-nam') airing today (5th) at 9:20 p.m., Kim Sang-hyuk, a former member of the group Click-B, appears as the second main character of 'Memory Salim-nam'.
Kim Sang-hyuk, who debuted in 1999 as a member of Korea's first idol band Click-B, gained public attention as a visual member of the group and captivated the public from the outset. Especially with his unique sense of entertainment, he captured the broadcasting industry and enjoyed top popularity. However, he became less active in broadcasting due to a drunk driving incident in 2005 and faded from the public eye.
Once one of the most popular stars of the time, Kim Sang-hyuk is summoned to 'Memory Salim-nam' to update everyone on his current status. Currently, Kim Sang-hyuk is running a restaurant and shows himself distributing flyers on the street, dedicated to his livelihood. After a 20-year hiatus, Kim Sang-hyuk reveals the reasons why he had not appeared on broadcasts during that time and opens up about the difficulties he faced in making a comeback due to public scrutiny.
He candidly expresses his feelings about having to leave the entertainment industry after an unfortunate incident. Kim Sang-hyuk says, "Back then, I thought I would be in big trouble if I went outside. I faced so much criticism, and after only receiving love, feeling the opposite temperature was overwhelming."
An unfortunate story that he has kept hidden will also be revealed. Kim Sang-hyuk recalls losing his father in an accident at the age of 11, shedding tears. Over 30 years have passed, but Kim Sang-hyuk's mother shows her sorrow, saying, "I just wish my husband could be by my side even if he is in a wheelchair."
He mentions that he had to sell two houses worth tens of billions of won due to a past fraud involving approximately 2.3 billion won, surprising everyone by revealing that he currently lives in a 15-pyeong house with his mother.
What happened to Kim Sang-hyuk during his 20-year hiatus can be confirmed in the broadcast of 'Salim-nam' airing at 9:20 p.m. on the 5th.
