Singer and actress IU shared behind-the-scenes cuts from the filming of "When Life Gives You Tangerines" to ease the disappointment of its conclusion.
On the 5th, IU posted multiple photos along with the caption, "When Life Gives You Tangerines Act 4 Behind the Scenes Part 2," saying, "If life gives me tangerines, I will share them with my dear friends in Dodongri. Thank you all. Everyone, When Life Gives You Tangerines."
The released photos contain behind-the-scenes cuts taken from the set of "When Life Gives You Tangerines," which IU filmed for nearly a year. IU captured sweet selfies with Park Bo-gum and also took pictures of the young actors, showcasing unreleased photos for fans, which drew attention.
IU took on dual roles, portraying the teenage character Ae-soon, who becomes a parent after marrying Gwan-sik, and the middle-aged version of Ae-soon, named Geum-myeong. Above all, in Act 1, the charming chemistry between IU and Park Bo-gum exploded, enthralling viewers worldwide.
Meanwhile, the Netflix original series "When Life Gives You Tangerines" unfolds the adventurous life of 'the rebellious darling' Ae-soon (portrayed by IU) and 'the foolish iron' Gwan-sik (portrayed by Park Bo-gum), born in Jeju in the 1960s, throughout the four seasons. Writer Im Sang-chun, who gained viewers' love with her distinctive heartfelt stories like "When the Camellia Blooms" and "Fight for My Way," and director Kim Won-seok, who has provided empathy, comfort, and encouragement through works such as "The Man from Nowhere," "Signal," and "Misaeng," collaborated on this project, which had a production budget of about 600 billion won. The cast includes IU, Park Bo-gum, Moon So-ri, Park Hae-joon, Yeom Hye-ran, Oh Jung-se, Kim Sun-ho, Lee Jun-young, and Kang Mal-geum.
Beginning with the first act (episodes 1-4) on the 7th of last month, a total of 16 episodes were released weekly over four weeks, with four episodes each week. It topped the global Top 10 series (non-English) category in its third week and recorded 6,000,000 viewership (the total viewing time divided by the total runtime of the work) after the release of the fourth act, making it rank third in the global Top 10 series (non-English) category, achieving a successful conclusion.
