MONSTA X member Jooheon revealed his 'fan love' side.
Recently, a video titled 'Turns out we are close friends?! Jungyeon X Jooheon debut partners are precious... | Grants Season 2 EP.01 | TWICE, MONSTA X' was posted on the YouTube channel 'Grants.'
'Grants' is a talk show hosted by TWICE's Jungyeon, featuring star guests who donate their cherished items, and it has 220,000 subscribers.
Jooheon initially showed unexpected closeness with host Jungyeon. Pretending to be a staff member, he successfully surprised Jungyeon by holding a banner, and he said, "When the offer to appear came, I immediately said yes because it was Jungyeon," adding, "To be honest, we are close friends, so it feels awkward to talk in front of the cameras," showcasing their 'true friendship' moment. He revealed that they became friends because they debuted together in 2015 and their activities overlapped significantly.
Next, Jooheon started showcasing his cherished items. From his 'Monbebe' dog tag to tap shoes he wore as a child, a MONSTA X team jumper, a speaker he purchased during the first world tour, and his first solo album 'LIGHTS,' he introduced meaningful items and surprised Jungyeon by donating all of his cherished items except for the 'Monbebe' dog tag and tap shoes.
In particular, the 'Monbebe' dog tag drew attention with the engraving of MONSTA X and 20150514 (the team's debut date), 'Monbebe,' and 'X.' Jooheon revealed, "When there was a military event, there was a place to personalize dog tags, so I had it made in the name of 'Monbebe.' Normally, blood types are noted below, but I couldn't include the blood types of all 'Monbebe,' so I wrote our own blood type," revealing the backstory and moving the fans.
While discussing his solo debut album 'LIGHTS,' Jooheon mentioned his favorite track among the songs, which is 'Don't Worry, Be Happy,' for which he participated in composing, writing, and arranging. He stated, "I think it's a song for 'Monbebe.' The lyrics say, 'We will meet again,' and after coming back from the military, I met 'Monbebe' again, just like the lyrics. It's the music that helped me endure that time."
In the midst of this, when Jungyeon asked if the album cover resembled Aespa's 'Whiplash' pose, Jooheon, feeling unjustified, replied, "This album came out before 'Whiplash,'" while also agreeing, "But it does look like that, doesn't it?" and then confusingly added, "But actually, I did it first?" which made everyone laugh.
After the item donations, Jooheon enjoyed a good time tasting trendy snacks like chewy cookies and towel cakes, stating, "Since returning from the military, I’ve been filming a lot to show you good looks. Please support me a lot and watch 'Grants' as well," sharing his thoughts on appearing on the show.
Every Friday at 8:30 p.m., Jooheon presents MONSTA X's own reality series 'Mon Eat Go' on the official MONSTA X YouTube channel, offering a variety of enjoyment. MONSTA X, which Jooheon is a part of, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on May 14.
