Actress Jeon So-min has recently joined the trend of AI image generation.
On the 4th, Jeon So-min posted a photo on her social media account story without any text.
The uploaded photo appears to be altered in the style of Studio Ghibli, likely depicting Jeon So-min with acquaintances, which has become popular recently in both domestic and international internet communities and social media.
Although it is trending following the release of OpenAI's 'ChatGPT-4o image generation,' the issue of copyright infringement related to AI image generation features has become a topic of debate.
While specific art styles are not protected by copyright, analyses suggest that if specific content is utilized in the AI learning process, acts of reproduction of the work may occur. Forbes criticized, saying, "AI continues to move toward devastating all creative fields."
Additionally, Megumi Ishitani, the director of the famous Japanese animation 'One Piece,' said on the 1st, "I will never forgive you for tarnishing the name of Ghibli. I want to take legal action. I can no longer watch Ghibli animation being treated so cheaply."
Hayao Miyazaki, who co-founded Studio Ghibli, is also being highlighted for his comments criticizing AI-generated art as "an insult to human life" in a 2016 NHK documentary.
Meanwhile, Jeon So-min has been passionately starring as Oh Ji-song in KBS Joy's 'Today, I Am Sorry.'
