Actor Lee Jae-yoon joins the global series.
On the 3rd, Viu, Asia's largest regional OTT platform, announced that "Lee Jae-yoon will take on a major role in the global series 'The Season.'" The work will be premiered at the '2025 Hong Kong FILMART' and has garnered attention from the industry.
'The Season' is a six-part series co-produced by the global entertainment studio SK Global, known for the film 'Crazy Rich Asians,' and the Netflix series 'Delhi Crime,' along with Hong Kong's PCCW Media. It is a suspense drama set in Hong Kong that features characters of various nationalities, created and produced by Yalun Tu, who has written 'NCIS: Hawaii' and 'Wu Assassins,' and directed by Chilean director Mariari Rivas.
Lee Jae-yoon, who has built his acting skills appearing in the film 'Spring in Seoul' and dramas such as 'Mother,' 'Alice,' and 'Another Miss Oh,' gained widespread recognition last year with 'Physical: 100 Season 2,' expanding his public profile. Through 'The Season,' he extends his presence as an actor to the global stage.
'Jessie Mei Li of 'Shadow and Bone,' Karena Lam of 'YIDO,' Justin Chien of 'The Brothers Sun,' Yvonne Chapman of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender,' Kki (Mitsuki Kimura), the daughter of Takuya Kimura and Shizuka Kudo, Anson Lo of the Hong Kong boy group MIRROR, and Marf Yau of the girl group COLLAR will co-star with Lee Jae-yoon.
The highly anticipated 'The Season' featuring Lee Jae-yoon will be released first through Viu in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, with global distribution planned for the future.
Meanwhile, Viu, the regional OTT platform of Hong Kong's PCCW, which services popular Korean content in 16 countries including Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, is set to launch new shows including 'The Art of Negotiation,' 'Please Take Care of the Eagle Five!', 'Way Back Love,' 'Crushology 101,' and 'My Youth.'
