Today (3rd), MBC's 'Save Me! Homes' (directed by Jeong Da-hee, Kim Moon-seop, So In-ji, Heo Ja-yun, Kim Wan-cheol/ hereafter 'Homes') will feature Chef Jeong Ji-sun, rapper Noksal, and Kim Suk embarking on a 'Chinese Food Road' exploration. Notably, Chef Jeong Ji-sun, who has reportedly increased sales threefold, also announced the opening of the third dim sum location.
For the exploration in Daelim-dong and Yeonhui-dong, rapper Noksal, known as 'Yeonhui-dong Kids,' will be representing the Bok team, while Chef Jeong Ji-sun, dubbed 'Queen of Chinese Cuisine,' and Kim Suk will lead the Deok team. Additionally, urban design expert Jeong Seok will join them in the studio to discuss the history of Daelim-dong and Yeonhui-dong, which we were unaware of.
The three who set out on the Chinese Food Road exploration in Daelim-dong are headed to 'Daelim Central Market.' It features an exotic landscape that makes one feel as if they’ve arrived in China, filled with not only Chinese dumplings but also street snacks.
Excited by the offal dishes that filled the market, Jeong Ji-sun said, "Shall we try some precious duck heads and pig tongues?" causing the two to panic. Once inside the shop, the three held a 'Gourmet Offal Feast with Chef Jeong Ji-sun.' They reportedly tasted a variety of dishes, ranging from 'difficulty level low' to 'difficulty level high,' starting with chicken hearts, pig noses, and duck heads.
Noksal, who revealed that he has a weak stomach, fully rejected the offal dishes but couldn’t fend off Chef Jeong Ji-sun’s surprise attack. In contrast, Kim Suk, who frowned and initially refused to taste the food, ended up trying the 'difficulty level high' special dish and reportedly started on a food broadcast by exclaiming, "What is this~ it’s delicious! It’s a rice thief!"
The three then head to Yeonhui-dong. Noksal, identifying as a member of Yeonhui-dong Kids, introduces, "While the first generation of Chinese immigrants is in Incheon, the second and third generations reside in Yeonhui-dong. If you go further up, there’s also a Chinese immigrant school."
In the studio, urban design expert Professor Jeong Seok notes, "Yeonhui-dong is the site where Yeonhui Palace is located. Yeonhui Palace was a secondary palace built outside the city walls in the second year of King Sejong's reign, where he occasionally visited for rest. It has been investigated that he stayed there for a long time after the creation of Hangul and before its announcement."
The three are headed to the landmark 'ㅅ' shopping center in Yeonhui-dong. After opening in 1975, it was remodeled to modern standards in 2011, and the KODIs shared their memories of the shopping center.
Noticing the Yeonhui-dong commercial district closely, Jeong Ji-sun mentions that she is preparing a third location, expressing a lot of interest in Yeonhui-dong. She then adds, "Please don’t misunderstand, merchants~ I only sell dim sum," attracting attention.
Meanwhile, Kim Suk, who left for an APT. listing in Yeonhui-dong, encounters a very special connection there, surprising everyone. Curiosity arises about what kind of connection Kim Suk met.
The 'Chinese Food Road' exploration will be revealed tonight at 10 p.m. on MBC's 'Save Me! Homes.'
