Comedian Kim Byung-man announced his remarriage in September, while also resolving issues related to the partitioning of assets and the custody of his daughter with his ex-wife.

According to OSEN reports on the 3rd, Kim Byung-man is confirmed to be in the final stages of the partitioning of assets with his ex-wife, Ms. A, whom he divorced in 2020, and the custody of their daughter.

Earlier, Kim Byung-man married a non-celebrity who is seven years his senior in 2011, but he suddenly announced his divorce in 2023. They filed for divorce in 2019 and finalized their marriage in 2020.

However, nearly four years after the divorce, in November of last year, allegations surfaced that Kim Byung-man had assaulted his ex-wife, provoking a backlash. In response, his agency, Skyturtle, refuted the claims, stating, "This is not true," and explained that "during the divorce proceedings, Ms. A claimed that Kim Byung-man assaulted her during their marriage, but the court did not accept this. At the time of the alleged assault, Kim Byung-man was overseas. Ms. A made false claims to gain an advantage in the lawsuit."

In particular, there was a situation where Kim Byung-man's daughter with Ms. A needed to be removed from his household registry, but "Ms. A is currently demanding 3 billion won from Kim Byung-man under this condition. Since Ms. A managed the assets, she needs to partition them, but made a false accusation against Kim Byung-man to avoid giving them to him. Ms. A has also taken out dozens of life insurance policies in Kim Byung-man's name," it was claimed.

Ultimately, Kim Byung-man received a 'no charge' disposition from the prosecution regarding the assault allegations against his ex-wife, clearing his name. However, in the custody case, Ms. A's daughter expressed that she did not want to be removed from Kim Byung-man's household registry, resulting in Kim Byung-man losing the case. At that time, Ms. A proposed a compromise, stating, "I will sign the custody agreement on the condition that I do not receive the partitioning of assets (a total of 1.8 billion won)," but Kim Byung-man reportedly refused.

As news of Kim Byung-man's remarriage surfaced, the household registry issue also came to the forefront. According to OSEN's confirmation, Kim Byung-man has not yet removed Ms. A's daughter from the registry. Sources state that the issues regarding asset partitioning and the household registry between Kim Byung-man and Ms. A are currently in the final stages.

Meanwhile, Kim Byung-man will remarry a non-celebrity woman in September. The fiancée works in a company, and the wedding will take place quietly with family and acquaintances. Kim Byung-man is currently staying in Jeju Island and is preparing to open a experiential school café on May 1. He plans to settle and live in Jeju Island after the marriage.
