Singer G-Dragon's side announced that for the first time in 19 years since his debut, they will take strong legal action against internet trolls. Previously, in 2023, G-Dragon's side had given a grace period to delete malicious comments and defamation posts, but this time they declared that they would respond firmly without leniency.
On the 3rd, G-Dragon's agency Galaxy Corporation stated on their official website, "Recently, baseless falsehoods and malicious posts targeting our artist have been indiscriminately spreading through online communities and social media. This is not just a simple opinion but a serious issue that could not only severely damage the artist's reputation but also cause confusion among fans and the public due to misinformation."
They added, "We are acutely aware of the serious nature of these malicious acts and will pursue strong legal action. Acts such as spreading false information, defamation, insults, and invasion of privacy are clear illegal acts and we sternly warn that they may be subject to legal punishment under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection and the Criminal Code."
G-Dragon's side stated, "We are closely monitoring online communities and social media, collecting related materials," and noted, "Fans' reports will also be actively used as important grounds for legal action."
They emphasized, "Galaxy Corporation will carefully review malicious posts against our artist and proceed with necessary legal procedures," adding, "We clearly state that we will respond firmly to acts of spreading false information and defamation without any agreements or leniency."
