Comedian Park Sung-kwang's wife, Lee Sol-i, expressed her struggles with malicious comments and revealed that she is battling women's cancer, while many are expressing their concerns; she clarified that she is not in terminal condition.
Lee Sol-i said on the 2nd, "I am grateful that so many people have sent me messages of comfort and support. I apologize for not being able to respond to each one individually." She added, "Suddenly, I feel that I may have been too absorbed in my own emotions, and I feel sorry towards my husband and family."
She continued, "For reference, I underwent surgery and chemotherapy about three years ago, protected by my family, and I have currently been diagnosed with no cancer cells in my body and am undergoing regular check-ups." She said, "I believe I am healthy, but I am still taking chemotherapy, so the doctors always say I need to be vigilant and cautious."
She also firmly stated, "There were articles incorrectly reporting that ‘I may not live for a few years,’ but that is not true." She disclosed, "I will live long and healthily!"
Lee Sol-i said, "I can't forget the day I was diagnosed. After experiencing pain to the point of death, I realized that death is closer than one might think and is certainly not someone else's issue." She added, "Life is a blessing, a gift, and feels fleeting. So, if there is someone I want to see, I want to see them; if there are words I want to convey, I will convey them; and if there is something I want to express, I will express it. I want to live without regrets. Since then, my life's motto has become 'a life with fewer regrets.'"
Moreover, she noted, "As a result, I am living less conservatively, more brightly, more freely, and enjoying life more than before. There are many words exchanged, but as so many people have told me, 'Stay strong,' I want to remember that I am 'a happy person' and conclude this story here."
Earlier, Lee Sol-i had confessed about her battle with women's cancer on this day. After appearing on the SBS variety program ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’, Lee Sol-i, who had been tormented by malicious comments, expressed her mental anguish caused by the false malicious comments. She also revealed that she is currently battling women's cancer.
Lee Sol-i said, "Whenever I want to be happy and live well, I wonder why such trials come. It's very frustrating." She revealed her experience after receiving threats to 'die' after working sincerely for a year since her appearance on 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2' and her subsequent resignation.
Lee Sol-i recounted, "After resigning, I was naturally preparing for a child when I was diagnosed with cancer just five months later. Due to the nature of women's cancer, I became unable to have children, and I felt very guilty towards my parents and in-laws for not being able to protect my health." She added, "Due to the nature of the cancer being quite severe, I experienced significant frustration not knowing if I could live for another year or three years."
Lee Sol-i stated, "I underwent surgery and cytotoxic chemotherapy for six months, had to be careful when going out, couldn't eat food, vomited daily, lost weight, my skin deteriorated, and my hair fell out... I endured really tough times going back and forth to the emergency room. I am still undergoing treatment while taking medication." She added, "That’s why I couldn’t have a child, and that situation continues to this day."
Every time I have check-ups, I ask the doctor if I can have a child, but I am told, 'Your health comes first.' There is still time left until full recovery, and I am still undergoing cancer treatment. Lee Sol-i said, "I did not want to bring this up, but I felt really hurt being portrayed continuously under provocative articles and distorted views as 'a luxurious woman', 'a woman who does not have children', and 'a woman who uses her husband like an ATM.'"
Lee Sol-i also revealed the malicious comments that led her to confess her battle with cancer, exposing comments that overstep boundaries and cause frowns. The trolls commented on her not having children and criticized her for posting photos on her personal social media, labeling her as 'attention-seeking'. Ultimately, Lee Sol-i explained her situation by publicly disclosing the painful comments.
Many netizens and colleagues are sending their support for Lee Sol-i's confession.
