Former Baby Vox member Kan Mi-yeon shared her struggles with depression.
On the 3rd, a video titled "The Baby Vox member Kan Mi-yeon who married a younger man after three years of hiding it" was uploaded to 'Hyungsu is K.Will'.
On this day, Kan Mi-yeon granted as a guest in the 'Knowing Brothers' corner. K.Will was curious about whether the variety shows Kan Mi-yeon was involved in during her time with Baby Vox were "intense," and Kan Mi-yeon referred to a variety show that crossed the Tsushima Strait, stating, "It had nothing to do with our will."
Kan Mi-yeon recalled, "That program was in a swimming pool, but later they would throw us into the sea in front of Jeju Island to create waves with a boat. We had to swim back to the boat after that. At that time, I was always swimming for that. Honestly, I was going through a mentally difficult time then,"
She continued, "At that time, the waves were really strong. Everyone said we had to wear life jackets and transfer to a big boat. I just wanted to go as I was. It was so difficult to even be alive. Both my body and mind were suffering, and starting from a very young age, my identity was not fully formed, so I basically had depression back then," adding that, "Nowadays, the company supports all that. They provide counseling. But back in our day, even going to see a psychiatrist was considered very serious."
K.Will empathized, saying, "That was true not just for entertainers but for ordinary people as well," and Kan Mi-yeon stated, "Back then, I didn't even think about going to a hospital. I just had to endure it alone."
In response, K.Will expressed concern, saying, "You speak about this so brightly, but I think it must have been really tough to go through." Kan Mi-yeon replied, "I think I'm happier now because of the person I was back then. I'm grateful because I managed to overcome the hardships. Those experiences have now become the energy of my life."
