The Constitutional Court is set to make a ruling on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol in April, leading the broadcasting and entertainment industry to go on high alert. Scheduled programs are expected to be canceled or modified.

According to a confirmation from OSEN on the 2nd, ahead of the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol, broadcasting stations such as SBS, MBC, and Channel A are heavily engaged in programming discussions. They are also exploring whether to maintain a special coverage system through the weekend after the impeachment trial takes place on the 4th.

First, the new MBC drama 'Crushology 101' that was scheduled to premiere on the 4th has been put on hold. An MBC official stated to OSEN, “Currently, there is nothing confirmed regarding the premiere of the new weekend drama 'Crushology 101.'”

The official added cautiously, “We will provide updates on any changes as soon as possible to avoid inconveniencing viewers.”

'Crushology 101' is a romance drama about Bunny's quest for a boyfriend after her first love turns into an embarrassing history, intertwined with suddenly appearing charming men. It was scheduled to air for the first time on the night of the 4th. Notably, actress Noh Jeong-ui, known as the 'MZ goddess,' plays the title role and will work alongside rising stars Lee Chae-min and Jo Jun-young, generating excitement.

KBS1's new drama 'Catch Your Luck' has also changed its premiere date and production briefing schedule. Initially, 'Catch Your Luck' was set to hold its production briefing on the 7th and air the first episode the same day. However, due to special coverage related to the presidential impeachment ruling scheduled for April 4th, the previous show 'Let’s Get Married, Maenggong' will wrap up on April 8th, with special broadcasts replacing it from April 9th to 11th, delaying the first episode to the 14th.

In response, the production team of 'Catch Your Luck' has moved the production briefing to the 11th and confirmed the premiere date as the 14th, allowing viewers to meet after the impeachment ruling.

Moreover, KBS's YouTube channel, which was scheduled to broadcast the KBS 2TV soccer entertainment program 'Pollunteer' on the 4th, has decided to move it forward to the morning of the 3rd. The first broadcast is set to air as planned on the 5th.

The play 'Pink Lipstick,' featuring veteran actors with a combined acting experience of 200 years such as Jeong Hye-sun, Park Jeong-soo, Song Seon-mi, Lee Tae-ran, Jeong Chan, and Gong Jeong-hwan, was scheduled for a press call on the afternoon of the 4th, but this has also been canceled.

'Pink Lipstick' representatives stated, “The previously scheduled press call has unfortunately been canceled due to the impeachment ruling of the president set for 11 a.m. on that same day,” adding, “We have determined that the coverage environment would not be favorable due to this significant social issue, and it is difficult to proceed smoothly with the event, so we ask for your understanding.”

Regarding additional broadcasting schedule changes, broadcasting stations like SBS, MBC, and Channel A reported, “We are still in discussions. Programming changes will be finalized once the president's impeachment ruling is announced.”
