Actor Kim Soo-hyun has publicly released the 'author identity analysis results' claiming the 'KakaoTalk messages' that were revealed as evidence of his relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron during her minor years are false, raising questions about the credibility of that analysis. Profiler Bae Sang-hoon stated, "a sloppy analysis."
On March 31, profiler Bae Sang-hoon posted a video titled "Analysis of Kim Soo-hyun's KakaoTalk by statement analysts and the ridicule of Gaseyeon" on his channel. In the video, Bae Sang-hoon said, "Initially, I thought there would be some honest disclosure and reflection since he said there would be a press conference, but I'm somewhat disappointed. I don’t know if it’s a lie. However, it doesn’t seem very truthful."
He added, "They claim to have dated for about a year right after turning 20, but there is evidence contradicting that. Of course, that could be possible. It could be said that they didn’t date personally but dated after adulthood, but that seems somewhat immature and rather fallacious. I wish they had been a bit more honest."
Bae Sang-hoon mentioned, "It was uncomfortable. Ultimately, instead of focusing on the deceased, they express remorse but seem disingenuous regarding their responsibilities as a star to the people in the company and those they work with in the drama. The obligations of a star are emphasized, and the drama gets hurt and suffers. I don’t know. It could have been like that, and if they had acknowledged it honestly, it might have succeeded spectacularly. Ultimately, this could be a rationalization for themselves."
Bae Sang-hoon expressed his thoughts on the press conference, saying, "If they had been truthful and more honest, wouldn’t the outcome be different? Ultimately, now, with advertisements withdrawn and their image damaged, they have no choice but to claim they couldn’t help it at that time. They have to protect the people around them. However, if what they said is true, they dated a young woman just over 20 for a year during a very difficult time. Doesn’t that deserve some support? Isn’t that too calculating? People find it embarrassing and may judge them as hypocritical, but they have no words to say."
In particular, Bae Sang-hoon commented that the 'KakaoTalk author identity analysis' released by Kim Soo-hyun’s side lacks authoritative verification.
Previously, Gaseyeon claimed that Kim Soo-hyun had a relationship with Kim Sae-ron from 2015, when she was a minor, for about six years, releasing photos together and mobile messenger (KakaoTalk) conversations as evidence. In response, Kim Soo-hyun pointed out that there are errors in the KakaoTalk contents released by the bereaved family through Gaseyeon, stating, "The individuals communicating with the deceased in KakaoTalk from 2016 and 2018 are different people. To prove this, I submitted the KakaoTalk messages I exchanged with acquaintances this year, as well as those from 2016 and 2018, to a verification agency that analyzes statements scientifically. The conclusion is that the individuals in 2016 and 2018 were not the same person."
Bae Sang-hoon stated, "Kim Sae-ron was exchanging KakaoTalk messages with someone, and it is said that two different messages were analyzed for authenticity by four statement analysts. One of the analysts is Kim Mi-young, who worked in the Scientific Investigation Bureau of the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office," and noted, "it was at a level that drew ridicule from Gaseyeon. Kim Mi-young had previously analyzed Jo Joo-bin as a '40-something, economically knowledgeable expert.'"
Bae Sang-hoon further commented, "From my perspective, ridicule is warranted. How sloppy could their so-called statement analysis have been? However, to be precise, it is not a public institution. It's not the National Forensic Service or anywhere like that. In fact, I do not trust the National Forensic Service either," and added, "People who worked at the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office for several years are the statement analysts who set up a private statement analysis center. They paid a fee and received the results. It amounts to nothing. Sloppy and nothing at all. The opposite analysis could also emerge."
Bae Sang-hoon described, "When analyzing the two KakaoTalk messages, various variables exist. It states that 92% is incorrect and only 8% is correct, but from my perspective, it’s hard to interpret. It could intentionally be expressed differently, and there are many variables. They make it seem as though it’s highly scientific, using a private statement analysis center."
On the afternoon of the 31st, Kim Soo-hyun attended a press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, with lawyer Kim Jong-bok from the law firm LK Bi&Partners. At the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun read a statement saying, "The deceased and I dated for about a year, four years before 'Queen of Tears' aired, five years ago," adding, "I did not date the deceased when they were a minor."
Kim Soo-hyun's side filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family, an unidentified individual claiming to be an aunt, and the operators of the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' (hereafter Gaseyeon) for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Protection of Information, seeking damages of 12 billion won.
