Shin Jeong-hwan said he met serial killer Kang Ho-soon.

Shin Jeong-hwan talked about the punishment for gambling. He said, "I accepted it graciously," and referred to the correctional facility using the slang term for a bakery.

Shin Jeong-hwan said, "The judge gave me 8 months," referring to his 8-month prison sentence. He noted, "There are things that I can't forget for 16 years. There are times when I wake up startled or feeling pressure. Those are episodes I experienced while I was inside."

Shin Jeong-hwan said, "In the morning, we go outside and exercise for 30 minutes." He continued, "Red is for death row inmates, yellow is for violent offenders, and blue is for drug offenders." He added, "Someone kept calling me from behind. When I looked, the name badge was red."

Shin Jeong-hwan said, "They asked if I had pictures and offered to draw them. I was flustered and stuttered." He added, "The next day, they asked for pictures again. I had a shaved head but looked like a rapper."

Shin Jeong-hwan said, "I asked the correctional officer who it was. They said, 'That's Ho-soon.' It was Kang Ho-soon, the serial killer. I was freaked out. I said I wouldn't go out for exercise from the next day."

Shin Jeong-hwan said, "There was someone who provided the meals and asked me why they kept asking for pictures. I heard that person had portraits of celebrities drawn with a pencil all over the walls of their room," surprising those around him.
