On March 31, the fan club of singer Lim Young-woong, 'Hero Era,' donated 609,128,800 won to the Korea Social Welfare Community Chest (Chairman Kim Byung-jun) for wildfire damage recovery.
The fan club 'Hero Era' conducted fundraising through the online donation portal site 'Happy Bean' for five days from March 26 to 30. Prior to this, hearing the news that Lim Young-woong and his agency donated 400 million won to the Community Chest in the name of 'Hero Era' on the 28th, fans actively participated in the donation, raising over 600 million won.
As a result, the total amount donated by Lim Young-woong and the fan club 'Hero Era' for the recovery from this Yeongnam wildfire damage reached 1 billion won, making it the largest amount donated by a fandom for wildfire damage assistance to date.
Fans participating in the donation left encouraging messages such as, 'May a small kindness become a great hope for someone,' 'I pray for the affected areas to recover quickly,' and 'Thank you to the firefighters,' contributing to a warm sharing.
Since starting donations for emergency recovery support in flood-affected areas in 2020, the fan club 'Hero Era' has actively participated in donations during disaster situations, including support for wildfire damage in Uljin, North Gyeongsang Province, and Samcheok, Gangwon Province in 2022, and support for heavy rain damage in 2023. In addition, they have consistently engaged in donations and volunteer work, such as joining the Community Chest's 'Sharing Leaders Club', regional briquette volunteering, and supporting everyday necessities for vulnerable groups, establishing themselves as a leading fandom in sharing culture across the country.
As of now, the cumulative amount donated in the name of 'Hero Era' to the Community Chest has reached 2 billion won since 2021. This fundraising for wildfire damage is also evaluated as a representative example of a donation culture created together by artists and fans, as donations continue from all over the country.
